Mary Kay Stone here early to bring uniforms. Picked Erma Hutchman up about 10 & to Camp Young. I scraped & washed windows & she mopped floor. Burned trash lying about & mowed part of lawn. Got slip cover at Uhlers for Rec room chair $12.00. Mother & Dadd out. Fixed attic stairs*

[*Attic access was over existing stairway to basement via a pull down set of folding stairs. Always shaky and replaced later with staircase)

In at 9:00 for Thiel wedding. Mrs. Leota Fish* in & filled basket & checked over calls. Worked till 4:30 – Rained lots but met Mary Jordan at work & we went to Columbus to Parade of Homes – In $30 to $40,000 class – Lovely. Home about 11:00. Kids stayed here alone.

[*Leota Fish was the Welcome Wagon Hostess. Various businesses would contribute items to a basket to be given to new arrivals in Marion County. This provided a great service, and introduced many newcomers to the established businesses in Marion.]
