In at 9:30 to work. Mrs. Prettyman in to see if we would want her. Still dickering with Stahl from Bucyrus. Kathy selling magazines like mad trying to be high salesman. Home about 10:30. High today about 50.

Sunday, November 13, 1955
Cloudy but warm – 75. Cleaned up dead annuals & honey locust pods, planted lycoris & put cement blocks around compost pile. Mrs. Elmer Smith & Mrs. Fies here to get orchid fixed. Folks, Mary & Rocky out for supper. Got out 11 batches poems. Bed 12:00.

Saturday, November 12, 1955
In at 7:15 for Theil wedding at 10 – Then to Presbyterian church to decorate for Courtright. Everything went fine. Clarence Greer’s last day at shop. May work Saturday if we need him. At David’s insistence tried to write stories about Granny’s* childhood.

[*Granny was Trella’s father, David Ray Hemmerly. Kathy and David called him granny, unaware that the term usually referred to a grandmother. He never seemed to mind. The Hemmerly Genealogy published by Trella in 1997, 42 years after this request, fulfilled this lifetime goal.]

Friday, November 11, 1955
Kids off school. In at 9:30 to work on appointments. Kathy helped more. Home at 6:30 & Kathy to hard times party MYF.

Wednesday, November 9, 1955
Daddy & Mother picked me up at 9 & we went to Ashely Noltes for cyclamen. Got 50 at $1 each. Then to shop & work till 4:30. After supper over to see Thelma Swisher, in for Hartley wedding appointment, visited folks & Mary & Kathy got magazine subscriptions. Home 10:45.

Thursday, November 10, 1955
At shop all day. Kathy, David & I to Senior Class Play “Bolts & Nuts”. Sat with Ruth Clark.

Tuesday, November 8, 1955
Worked at shop till 12:00 then to Bucyrus with Garden Club to Roehr House for lunch then to visit Norton’s & Ten Eykes Greenhouses. Back at 4:00 & worked some more.
TV’d tonight until it quit – again!

Monday, November 7, 1955
To Bogers to call Telephone Co. – & Daddy to get Standard Oil men out again to fix furnace. All fixed by 10:00 & I went in to work.

Sunday, November 6, 1955
Cleaned all AM & got Swiss Steak dinner ready PM for Hutchmans. Nice visit.

Saturday, November 5, 1955
Weddings – in PM shopped for David – underpants, shirt, gloves, $9 – & got fuel & battery for his plane. Home about 5:30.
