Tuesday, January 3, 1956
Banked & in to work. Had shampoo & wave & car oil change & grease in P.M. Made casket garland. Grocery shopped & home at 6:00. Read seed catalogs & new Sears Roebuck catalog. Bed at 10:30. Kathy wrote Christmas thank you letters.

Monday, January 2, 1956
Headachy – watched Rose Parade on TV & birds at feeder. In at 4 & got Ruth Ruhlman & brought her out for supper. Moth & Daddy out to take her home. Bed at 10:30 after ironing some. Rany sleety. Temp 38.

Sunday, January 1, 1956
Slept till 9 – Kathy to Sunday School & church. David OK. In at 10:30 for funeral work. Deysons & Don all working. Mother had sauerkraut dinner for all. Home at 3:30 & at 5:30 to Galion with Paris & Helen to see Hereb Romine who died Friday. Dad Romine’s half brother. Home at 7 & took tree down. Bed 9:30.

Saturday, December 31, 1955
Tennant wedding. At it all day along with 15 corsages for New Year’s Eve. 5 funerals – busy – busy. Took David in had been sick in night. Home about 8:30. TV & bed at 11:00. Tired!

Friday, December 30, 1955
Atha wedding & anoher small one. Bought $50 tax stamps to cover my $1,800 weddings since July. Cold – 18 all day. Home at 4 & Kathy to MYF cabinet meeting. I baked box cake for her to take to alumni game & dance tonight. Too tired to go too. David & I watched TV & popcorn.

Thursday, December 29, 1955
Slept ’till 11:00. Kathy & I cleaned house a little. To Caledonia for groceries – banking, etc. Had baked ham, sweet potatoes, lima beans, waldorf salad, cranberry sauce. Willard Durfee & Keith here for supper. Mary & Rocky out 7 to 8:30. Bernard & Rosina Brooks 8:30 till 11:00. Eggnog, avacado, scrabble, etc. Fun.

Wednesday, December 28, 1955
Kathy & I to Columbus leaving David at mothers. Shopped Lazarus & Darling shop. Bought skirts, sweaters & blouses & shoes. Record, music, trumpet mute & shrug for Kathy. Mother for supper & to change & then picked up Bob Swisher, Pat Esterline & Bob Stafford & to the Ray Wagners for the evening. Home 12:00.

Tuesday, December 27, 1955
At shop till 4 – Then Kathy & I shopping. Called back to shop to do Converse wedding that I thought was Thursday. But got it done on time! Home just in time for Kathy to get ready for date for movie with Bob Swisher, Jerry Gorby & Nan Reed.

Sunday, December 25, 1955
Up at 7:30 for Santa’s gifts. Kodak Duaflex IV. Kathy to Sunday School & church. I worked on dinner, Turkey, etc. Folks, Mary & Rocky & Vivian Adams out at 2:30. Wonderful Christmas. Electic Blanket, Slide Viewer, $20 from folks, hose, brown felt skirt. Purse from Vivian. David got rock case. Kathy felt shirt, hose, pants. Played Scrabble – bed at 12:15.

Monday, December 26, 1955
Kathy & I in at 8:00 to do Noble-Hawk wedding & had it back out here at 11:00. Mother called saying Willard Durfee’s dad died Sunday. He came at noon & had lunch with us. David hit teeth while jumping on pogo stick. Took him in & Minnie Fout cut wire to ease pain. Spent evening with T.V.
