Thursday, February 2, 1956
Got stuck trying to get out to take kids to school. Water seeping around basement toilet. Unplugged end of septic tank drain – snow. Drained water tank. Was water logged. Took hike around garden. In at 2:30 to do wedding. Kathy to cabinet meeting tonight.

Wednesday, February 1, 1956
Worked in my room all day on file & getting Ray’s things sorted out. Worked on seed orders but didn’t send any. Went to Caledonia after supper for groceries. First time out since Sunday. Mother & daddy out for visit in P.M.

Tuesday, January 31, 1956
Washed sweaters, scarfs, slacks & got ironing all done! Beautiful sun but temp 10 AM & up to 30. Have stole about 1/2 done. TV tonight.

Monday, January 30, 1956
5″ snow & no school. I had headache & cold & spent most of day in bed.

Sunday, January 29, 1956
Kids all to Sunday School & Kathy stayed for church. Ice in river breaking up & big jam right out window. Bob Stafford over to order wedding flowers. Bob Brown out to get Keith about 7:00.

Saturday, January 28, 1956
In at 1:30 so David could meet Walt for birthday gift. Field Glasses & $2. Freshman bake sale at Sickles AM & I took Kathy, cake & cookies over. 2 wedding appointments. Keith Brown home with us.

Friday, January 27, 1956
Worked in greenhouse all day. Planted pansy, tomato seed. Scraped walk & cleaned misc. Kathy to basketball game. Bob Swisher (John) brought her home as per usual.

Thursday, January 26, 1956
Baked cake & cleaned at house. To school at 3:00 & visited David’s room. 11 boys & 2 girls home with him for ice skating & “Jr. River Patrol” meeting. Mike Leonard stayed for supper & Mary & Rocky out to get him. Mother gave David a sweater & Mary & Rocky $5 for microscope accessories.

Wednesday, January 25, 1956
To work at 10:00. Shopped & home at 5:00. Kathy to Caroline Foos for night. David says he wishes I was like other Mother’s – but I am the best one. T.V. & David popped corn. More crochet on stole. Bed at 11:00.

Tuesday, January 24, 1956
To work about 12:00. Mrs. Ralph Hurr died of heart attack – aftermath of bank robbery. Delivered truckload of flowers to Caledonia. TV & crocheting tonight. Kathy made fudge.
