Wednesday, April 11, 1956
Up at 5:30 & left at 6:15 with Mary K. Stone for Girl Scout Presidents & Executives meeting in Cincinnati at Sheraton-Gibson. 3 sessions with time out for dinner with Vivian Adams & Netherland Plaza & quick tour of downtown Cincinnati. Home with Vivian at 10:00. Ken called at 11:30.

Tuesday, April 10, 1956
June Graham here to clean $8 & I worked with her until 1 & then in to do corsages. Sifted dirt & home about 5. Took palms to school for banquet. Kathy served for it. David to scouts & me for hair wash & wave. Home at 9 & mended & packed for tomorrow.

Monday, April 9, 1956
Picked up wedding things at St. Pauls Lutheran Church & then to Terralls to get Nancy’s wedding order. To shop & terribly busy. All Tuesday funerals. At 4:15 got Kathy & to shop. She bought pink dress – cotton & blue dress nylon & skirt black & blouse. Home late. Tired. Bed

Sunday, April 8, 1956
In to work. Finished about noon & home at 1:00. Ron Everly out about 4 to see butterfly collection (& Kathy?) & stayed for supper & till 8:00. TV & to bed. Started “Imperial Woman” by Pearl Buck.

Saturday, April 7, 1956
In at 7 with Kathy to finish Gallena & Cleveland weddings at 10 & 10:30. Then Kathy did all makeup work on Mack-Peak wedding for 7:30 tonight. Took 2 wedding orders. 5 funerals. To Caledonia for fish fry at 7. Home 8:30 & to bed by 9:00.l

Thursday, April 5, 1956
A happy day. Set our Spring Hill order- magnolia, 2 hawthorns, Halls honeysuckle – mentor barberry. Kathy was highest in both English & Science. David starting another fence. Worked out till 6:30. T.V. tonight & ironing.

Friday, April 6, 1956
In at 9 – centerpieces for Garden Club & Smale wedding. Luncheon at Harding & introduced Mrs. J. R. Frederick & ran projector for her. Did corsages on wedding & then to Kingwood at Mansfield for organization meeting of Dutch Iris Society. Mary & Guy Simon. Stopped at Gills [in Galion] on way home.

Wednesday, April 4, 1956
Cleaned basement – garage. Transplanted Scotch Pine seedlings. Set out forced King Alfreds. Took coins to Mary for Birthday. To Y to make talk on gardening $5. Home 11:00. Popped corn & to bed.

Tuesday, April 3, 1956
In to work at 10:00 after banking. Warm – 75 but cloudy. Got suit from Franks & bought navy hat with pink rose $2.44 David to scout meeting. Kathy practising French Horn. David can play taps on Scout bugle* he got a week ago. Read. Bed 11:00

[*David traded bugling rights for the plastic model airplane he got for selling Christmas cards.]

Monday, April 2, 1956
Slept through until 9 AM. No headache but tired. Planted red maple & Daddy’s forced daff bulbs. Else Paulson rose bush. In at 4:00 for David dentist. Kathy & I shopped for material for Home Ec sewing. Grocery shopping & home at 7:30. Bill Hutchman had been here & put plastic in cold frame. TV – Katherine Cornell in “Barretts of Wimpole Street”.
