Tuesday, May 1, 1956
Banked & in at 11:00. To Kinters, Goerlichs. Hutchmans PM for various errands. Mother & Daddy to Forest to take Roger to Bellefontaine so I stayed to lock up. Home at 6:45 & no supper started. David to scout meeing & me to bed early. Disgusted with Kathy.*

[*probably because she was supposed to start supper.]

Monday, April 30, 1956
In greenhouse AM transplanting petunias, salvia, tomatoes, cabbage. Worked on bookkeeping P.M. Picked David up at school and in for dental appointment. Got dirt & fertilizer from garden [Hartford Street gardens]. Home for supper. David mowed lawn. In for wedding appointment & County Music Festival. Mother & Daddy & Mary too.

Saturday, April 28, 1956
Jerry Gorby & Barb Brooks over to shoot & we cleaned up target area. To Kitchener woods with Helen Brocklesby & dug stuff. Sultry & I got headache so couldn’t go to work at noon. Kids in to Marion when Ron Everly made Caledonia delivery. Folks brought them home at 10. Aunt Zella* been sick for a week.

Sunday, April 29, 1956
In to Hutchmans at 8:30 & off to Hocking Co. in the rain. But cleared as we got to Cantwell Cliffs. Dave Lockwood along & we photographed. To Rock House & Ash Cave & started raining as we left for home! Home at 7 & Kathy to MYF. Set out plants I got form Kitcheners yesterday.

Friday, April 27, 1956
A warbler day! Rowed across river & identified 4. Daddy out fishing. Temp to 80 but not sunny. In at 2:00 to make talk & pictures on Wildflowers for $10 Green Thumb Garden Club. Looked at living room suite at Lennons. Kathy Freshman Class party here tonight. 21 kids & 16 misc. people. Good time.

Thursday, April 26, 1956
Up 6:30. In to do 28 Pythian Sisters corsages at 8:15. To Camp Owens at 10:30 for Girl Scout Outdoor Workshop. Made terrarium. Spoke on “Medicinal Value of Wild Plants”, showed wildflower slides & led Nature hike. Back to shop to do a weding. Home at 4:00. Kathy Entertainment Committee for tomorrow & David Patrol meeting. Boat put in river. Wood Ducks at Nickels. Bonnie Hanschug here.

Wednesday, April 25, 1956
June Graham to clean ($8). Took cookies & called on Mrs. Silverthorn. Young, pretty & nice. In at 2:30 to do corsages, etc. Home at 6:00. Mary Jordan & Mary & Rocky here for evening. Mrs. Silverthorn sent rolls down. Still cool & rainy. High 50 low 30.

Tuesday, April 24, 1956
In at noon to committee meeting at Mary Loackwoods on Garden Club Constitution. At shop at 4 for wedding appointment with Creagers. Home with headache. Took David to Scouts & got hair washed & set & then home & bed. Ken Silverthorn down talking airplanes to Kathy.

Sunday, April 22, 1956
In to do Whittington-Swihart wedding. Home about 1:30 & gave house quick going over. Bill & Erma Hutchman & Ann out for hour or so. Brought tomatoes & ageratum plants. In at 5:00 to see Ice Capades. Took Pat Esterline. Walt sent kids 4 tickets. Enjoyed muchly.

Monday, April 23, 1956
Home all day! Worked in greenhouse transplanting tomatoes, ageratum, alyssum, marigolds. Set out pansies. Men fixed hole in road. Ken & Tom Silverthorn down to shoot with kids. Me to Girl Scout Board meeting. Snowed in night.
