Friday, May 11, 1956
Erma Hutchman, Don Smith & I carried on. Don Stahl had bad night & had to go home but came back in evening OK. Fanny, FLoy & Mary Baker good help & got wonderful food ready. Milan & Alice Gorby in at 6:00 & we all worked until 10:30. They all night with me. Kathy left at noon with Helen Brocklesby & Pat Esterline for Asbury College.

Thursday, May 10, 1956
To shop at 8:30 & Erma Hutchman ready to work. Did orchids & cymbidiums. Don Smith (on strike from Shovel) worked with us. To Pollack at 4:30 to see crab tree where Mary Jordan works & shopped for sweater for mother but couldn’t find. About 60 orders for corsages. Found chestnut sided warbler dead by greenhouse.

Sunday, May 6, 1956
Awoke at 6:00 in Kathy’s room & Indigo buntings outside. List to 32 when Alice Gorby & I left at 8 to do 2 weddings. Took all day home at 5 & Milan had 80 on his bird list & we added 3 more. Mother & daddy here for supper. Mary & Rocky stopped. Had fish Milan caught; cleaned. Hot – but showered & cool tonight.

Beautiful Day. Temp 70. Mary Lockwood picked me up at 9:00 – Got poison ivy shot & then off to Knox Co. to Lockwood’s cabin on the Kokosing. Gorgeous wildflowers. Home at 5 & planted things we dug. In to Marion for wedding appointment & then to H. Ray Wagner’s to get Kathy who studied for Science Test.

[Poison] Ivy spreading hand & face so stopped for shot at Axthelm. Busy at shop all day. Rain A.M. but birds plentiful. Hutchmans out tonight. Kathy no supper got again & to cabinet meeting & didn’t do dishes. Set out forget-me-nots, grass & coral bells from Kinters. Made David’s Jr. River Patrol Flag & TV.
