Thursday, May 31, 1956
Gardening AM. Planted marigolds. Got lime & spread it. Rained P.M. David to Children’s Day Practice & Patrol meeting. Kathy & Pat Esterline riding to Swishers. Ray & Lois Wagner for inside picnic. Too much rain. Homemade ice cream – slides & bird talk. Left at 11:15. Poemed some. They are so good (poems).

Wednesday, May 30, 1956
In & stopped to see Mary & Rocky’s iris. Seedlings gorgeous. At shop – wedding appointment (Williams) Home at noon & worked in garden between showers. Set out white petunias. Mr. Deyson out to fish & we hiked across river. Staffords stopped with Haley about dark. Bed 9:30.

Tuesday, May 29, 1956
Busy Busy Day. lDavid & Daddy to Fostoria to get Glads. Have used 120 dozen since Saturday! Mrs. Isabelle Scott helping. Home about 9:00.
Took iris to cemetery & set out double begonias & alyssum.

Monday, May 28, 1956
Left kids home but got them at noon & back in to finish 18 corsages & much funeral work. Wedding appointment 6:00.
Then to Hipshers for Flower Arrangment talk. Kathy at Clarks while I was at meeting. Home 1:30. River bank full.

Sunday, May 27, 1956
Didn’t have to go into work but rained until 2:00. I set out marigolds, petunias, pansies, salvia. KIathy to Memorial Day Service in band. Bill & Erma Hutchman brought Clarence & Mary Etter & family out for picnic. I furnished homemade ice cream. Showed slides. Kathy & Judy to MYF.

Saturday, May 26, 1956
In with David at 9 & found Kathy already at corsage orders! She worked fined all day. Busy with combination pots, golden wedding etc. Home past Erman Hutchman’s to see mourning warbler. Set out cabbage & cauliflower plants. TV & bed at 10:00.

Friday, May 25, 1956
Kathy in with me at 9:30. Kathy & I on 100 corsagettes for Whirlpool party. Kathy uptown with Beth Hanning when I delivered them. Pick up record player & stuff for shop. David & I home at 6:00 stopping at Oborns nursery & he wants iris plants. Daddy out & bulldozed lower garden to level. Dug iris.

Thursday, May 24, 1956
Kids home & me at shop. Back in at 8 for wedding appointment. Left Kathy off at Swishers to visit Bob – recovering from mumps on other side. David stayed all night at folks. Still cold.

Wednesday, May 23, 1956
Cold again. David stayed home & Kathy too sleeping most of day. At shop. Kathy had supper ready but too cold to work out.

Tuesday, May 22, 1956
At shop from 10 to 5. Went to cemetery greenhouse & got geraniums & plants. Nearly melted so hot 83 degrees outside. People here to pick up corsages as we ate & Paris & Dad Romine out to fish. Got nice bass & catfish. Kathy to 8th grade graduations & slumber party at Erma Clarks. David’s scout troop out for wiener roast. Set out tomato plants. Bed at 10.
