All 4 weddings like clockwork. Emma did 6 baskets & 2 mantle arrangements. Mary Matson & Kathy helping me. Mary, Vivian Adams & Kathy did Kirkpatrick church & Kathy serviced. Don Bradley over to see Kathy but shee all dated up with Bob for Midwestern Hayride. Vivian home with me. Folks & Mary & Rocky out.

Saturday, August 18, 1956
Lupina-Kilbury 10:00. Speck-Howard 4:30 & Savage-Wills 7:30. All went well. Kathy & Mary Matson helping me. Terribly humid. David in & out of Fair all day. Mary, Rocky, Vivian & Deysons over to folks for homemade ice cream. Kathy to fair with Bob Swisher. David & I home about 10.

Friday, August 17, 1956
In at 7:15. David & I decorated Temple Chupah in 5 doz. white glads. Then to do Hotel Ballroom – Mary Watson helping – she’s slow! Got tomorrow’s weddings pretty well done. More ivy from Mrs. Waddell. Kathy & I home at 8 & me bed at 8:30. Tired!

Thursday, August 16, 1956
In AM & cleaned & painted all 3 pr. candelabra. Checked supplies, etc. for 8 weddings over weekend. Got most of Teitlebaum done for Friday. Mary met Vivian Adams in Columbus. Cut ivy from Waddells. Mary & Rocky & Vivian out for short visit late evening.

In to do Brady-Parker wedding. Home past Mary Jordans. She had eye scratched but better now. Helen Sturman & son Ed here to see Butterflies. Daddy sprayed for mosquitos & fished. Bill Hutchman & Ann stopped. Kathy to MYF.

Saturday, August 11, 1956
In at 8 for 2 weddings. Sold 3 weddings. Went to Nona Kling’s sale. Bought table $5 – Rocker 50cents – wash stand 1.50 – coal skuttle & basket 5 cents linens $1 – dishes $2.20. Ice Cream Social at church. David & I & Mabel Dice over with Margaret Fury to order wedding flowers. Tired.

Friday, August 10, 1956
Left Lexington (Springs Motel) at 6:45. David didn’t like the type comic books at hotel. Through beautiful Bluegrass country & home at 1:30. Corn & tomatoes for lunch at Mother’s & then to work on tomorrows wedding till 5:30. Mary Baker & Loren home with us for more corn & tomatoes & unpacking. Helen Brocklesby down. Bed 10:30.
