Easter
With David’s directions & the MapQuest map I had no trouble finding 4805 Airway to arrive at the Sapp’s at 2:00 – He was waiting at curb to flag me down – Dinner served buffet style & David & Karen’s family – Nancy’s mother & I at table in dining room – The Sapp’s ate on the new deck overlooking back yard – Ham, mashed potatoes, veggie tray, spinach salad, fres sweet corn kernels, pipes – green bean casserole. I took a candy tray from Aldi’s.
They have corn toss boards so a lot of throwing of bags – Mark – the military son of Sapps flew in from Calif with his daughter.
David &* I left about 3:30 – Drove thru Snyder Park in Springfield looking for grass lane path suggested for TN Preserve – all asphalt bike path found . The to Cedar Bog – New Environmental building will open tomorrow – Skunk cabbage foliage plentiful & sheets of Marsh Marigolds in bloom.
To Cinci just as Susie was leaving for OSU in Columbus. Had worked all day delivering pizza.

Text message on my computer screen this morning – David had his brochure formatted and 4 pictures added. Texted back & forth & I printed it out on 8 ½ x 11 since my printer won’t print 8 ½ x 17.
I know how difficult it was for him to ask for money to put into TerraPro. Needs over $10,000 for full page ad in Ohio Funeral Director Program bulletin [magazine] & to pay the Cincinnati State intern he has bired. TO Diane Mault’s to pick up 2008 income tax report – medical exemption (hearing aids $4,500 & Ins. Prem) helped. So only $480 Federal Tax instead of over $2,000 for 2007. She says next year cashing 2 HH bonds – (One for David) would increase payment to about $800.
Shoppe3d at Aldi’s for Easter candy tray to take to Bill & Nancy Sapps – and a gerbera plant for Karen & David.
Mail from Scott Spears setting up time to tape tax spoof to air April 15.

Royce cleaning – with a chest cold! Kit Fogle brought the HH Bond to Terradise for me to endorse for cashing – When Ken Vincent met me at the door I just handed him the envelope – forgetting it had to be signed.
Instead of watching TV from 8:00 until 10:”30 I tackled the disorder in my office. The desk had dust from when it was moved there years ago! Will give Rocky’s photo paper cutter to rummage sale – and the boxes of file cards & photo holders.
Sent David the file for Terradise Nature Center Preserve.
Email from Scot Spear – spoof on Income Tax – First version unacceptable so he revised it.

30-50° Sunny windy full moon
Phoebe on red bud – right on schedule.
Finished plant list for Terradise Nature Preserve brochure & made corrections from Karen Kelley.
Gale (with Melissa & 2 yr old) came by because Kit Fogle couldn’t reach me by phone & called Heritage Hall. Took a little tour of Terradise.
Dave Matyak came with an Easter lily in pot & hyacinth in post. Gave him the tray of chocolate-covered raisin & peanuts & pretzels. Told him I didn’t want another layer of bricks in greenhouse. (CGale wants them for her potting shed) & since he wouldn’t take up bricks to put in a layer of sand – I got a crowbar & started getting them out – He said ‘was overkill’ & got the spade (shovel) – Says it needs gravel before sand goes in – He saw an animal swimming in pond – went into inlet pool.
2 Geese hang out on pond.

30° windy cloudy
Jim Carpenter here from 9:45 to 12:15 $25. Sorted boxes of Mary & Geor Sifritt’s things – to MCHS rummage – save – trash – Brought 3 boxes to kitchen to be washed (Geo clothes) in washer & pots in dishwasher. Cleaned up a smaller toaster & will put bigger one in rummage sale. Found a silver flower holder (Japan) just right for daffs.
To Marion at 1:00. Ken Vincent met me at door (back door) of his office & I gave him the envelope with the $10,000 HH Bond to cash.
Took a bunch of baskets & vases to Hemmerly’s. Shopped at Aldis – $59.79 & didn’t have enough cash – so to Bank Ohio & cashed check for $200 & asked them to renew my debit card – Heavy cat litter, pop, milk to unload.

Snow & rain 35°
Tried to call Kit Fogle to tell him I was bringing in a $10,000 HH bond for cashing – but got an unintelligible message so didn’t make the trip.
Worried about the north door to Campbell Street that David & I used. He fumbled with a bolt lock to release the door. Public buildings should have a push bar so in case of emergency the door opens easily!
Worked on draft of brochure for Terradise Nature Preserve – the text. Harry Condry came over at 7:00 and had added several shrubs & vines – Quite a discussion on kind of hickory – Decided it was shellbark (has a thick pod). He helped me enter additions on the computer – I told him to tear up any Euonymus fortunei [*Wintercreeper] he finds.
[*This has become a serious problem at Terradise. Any volunteers should contact terradisenaturecenter@gmail.com for scheduling eradication sessions in late March/April.
Vines should be cut by hand and each cut stem sprayed with Roundup (a formulation of glyphosate) just after the last killing frost. While the Roundup label recommends a 50- to 100-percent concentration of Roundup for stump treatment, a 20-percent concentration has proven effective. A squirt bottle may be used for spot treatment or individual stumps can be painted by hand using a sponge applicator. Treatment should be in late winter when most native vegetation is dormant and prior to the emergence of spring wildflowers. Care should be taken to avoid contacting non-target species with the herbicide. By law, herbicides may only be applied as per label instructions. – https://mdc.mo.gov/trees-plants/invasive-plants/wintercreeper-control#:~:text=Wintercreeper%20can%20cover%20the%20ground,rapidly%20and%20replaces%20spring%20ephemerals.]

Mary’s 90th birthday
David arrived about 10 and soon had most of the items on my list taken care of – got TV’s so captions & screen & channel care of – 28 plays – Brought chairs to patio – Fixed TerraPro to print labels for my address book with telephone numbers.
To Farison-Snyder (Denzer’s) Funeral Home for funeral of Tom Yannitell – Sat with Arnel & John Rein & in front of Nadine Gittenger who was in charge of TV screen playing images of Tom & family – One room displayed Tom’s photography including a panel in 3-D (like ones he sent me of my 90th birthday). Couldn’t understand speakers but his 2 sons brought laughs & VBecky’s sister-in-law also.
Followed the Red Cab procession to Palace Theatre – Tables set up on stage with serving table (Jane & Ralph Brown) among servers) Sat beside Pat Isaly & Greek husband – who was so friendly – Many of Kathi’s classmates greeted us – At end Becky Yannitell thanked & said flowers were in the foyer and ‘please take one home.’ No cemetery interment – called HH at 1:00 & left message for Jim Carpenter that I wouldn’t be there – Back to Terradise – David dug rest of daffs by gazebo – took some home – moved stepping stones – Tour in golf cart down in woods – dug Ostrich fern & Va. Bluebells and planted on hill at start of PA Avenue.

Ordered flowers from Hemmerly’s for Kathi to go to Tom Yannitell’s funeral – $35 (as kathi had asked me to). She called Hemmerly’s later & added David & my names.

Suggested I cash one a year & reinvest in a Bond Fund – Bring it to him next week & he will certify it & send to US for cashing. Will use it for landscaping to put into TNP fund at Marion Community Foundation & gifts to Kathi & David.
To Goodwill to buy a pr of jeans $5.99. Ended up with a blouse & jacket & long skit also – $20 – fun shopping – Have them in the washer before wearing.
