Madge Guthery photo & news story & obit of her death – Marion Star
Finished 1989 chronology.
Got e-mail from David that he would be up about 1:30 & by 6:00 to play in Columbus with V. Wiester’s Jazz band.
To Marion. Visited John Cottrill & took extra minutes, reports & board members of HTET. He kept the records for the first 20 yrs& so pleased to have info – Daughter Marilyn visiting him.
To Dr. Cloran for cleaning teeth. Home to meet David who rescued tractor & mowed upper lawn, Took measurements for newTV – Will have to modify cabinet to hold high definition set. To Servex & Gary Sens sold us 60″ set $650 with tax.
To Bob Evans & Gale & joined us for supper. Library gets 15% of take tonight.
Gale suggests Wyandot Popcorn Museum pay 20% of her salary for the time she spends on their customores.
Home by 6:15 & Gale unloaded TV. Dave will install on a shelf in cabinet Thursday – So a few more nights of TV on small set in my bedroom.

Cloudy 60° – At computer most of day – frustration at delay when I enter text for chronology.
Working on 1986-87-1988
Took mower to upper lawn to mow leaves and on first round got it stuck on protruding root of white pine.

News story on TV – Dam in Olympic Natl Park dynamited to allow salmon to swim upriver to spawn.

E-mail from Scott Spears to tell me of death early this morning of Madge Guthery at Marion Manor. She had been there for a year or more after a broken hip – age 99.
Letter from Eugene Sheneman. He is 94 & has recovered from a broken hip.
Jim C here from 9:30 to 11:30 – Dug mums, plants & potted some to winter in greenhouse – Cleaned leaves from side entrance area. To HH at 1:00. Did inventory of book sales in gift shop since March. Not many sales.
Call from Charlie McCarthy – into something but will contact us in Dec. about historic marker for site of Scioto Ordinance Plant.
Shopped at Aldi $45 – TV & supper in bedroom.
Ohio State beat Iowa in overtime with a field goal, 27-24 – So to Rose Bowl – First time in 14 years.

Wrote minutes for yesterday HPEF Trustee meeting. E-mailed to Don & Kit & Diane for critique.
E-mail from David – Ill with vomiting & diarrhea-
Started some notebooks from one of thestorage boxes in my bedroom. Found info on my awards & letters supporting them. Would like to make a notebookof these.
E-mail from Dave – Saw a bluebirdout of his office window – Said Olgua Haldeman is a permanent resident at Pointe on Oak Street.
No TV – Both sets not working

Spent most of the day at computer. Edited Nancy Gracely’s Board Minutes & sent to Gale & Jan Augenstein.
Worked on organizing HPE Fund notebook. Called Jack Bull, Geo Brown & Todd Anderson who had not answered my emails.
Celebration in Germany of tearing down E. Berlin wall 20 years ago – climax was panels falling like dominoes.

To Hemmerly’s Flowers Christmas Open House – No one there but me – Diane said people came at 1:00 – I felt badly for them – Star didn’t print my article on “Florist for 75 years”
Called at Boyd’s for Marge Croman wake. Found my Meijers credit card in my date book on bottom of my purse.
Finished the 1985 chronology – Leafed thru a notebook of letters, pictures, etc for 1975.
Need to remove duplicates of Kathi or David.

Can’t find my Meyer Discover Card and both my hearing aids!
Got Ohio State Bank Statements. Balance of $2,300 with the 5,000 & Health Insurance Paid. My usual monthly expense is about $700 (more in winter for gas heat) My income is $2,000 & Social Security +$861 pension fund.
To Resource Center – Dody Mauer there. Has been researching Quarry St. Cemetery – found more buried tombstones. Lives in the Frame Family home on SR 309 at curve. Much remodeling neeeded.
Shoppe at Meijer – Home 5:15.
Jan Augenstein asked me to be her selection for member of the 2010 Exec Committtee since I chose not to be re-elected Corresponding Sec – she waid couldn’t lose my expertise!
