Up at 8. Took from 8:45 to 1:00 to get my permanent. Went with Daddy to the garden about 2. Set out asters and tomato plants and eggplant. Put hug[?sic] finish on everything and plowed. When we got home Bernard Brooks was there. I bathed and we went up town to meet Rosina. But her mother wouldn’t let him come with us. I saw Ralph Mohat. He’s neighbors both in work and living. Bernard treated me at Islay’s and then we went home and had cherry pie.

Mother wrote today saying that she wanted the big suitcase so Wally brought it over. And then we went for a walk on the campus. It started raining so we walked in the rain. Stopped for a hamburger and some peanuts. Just fun. Home about 9 and packed my suitcase.
Ask Bill about my raise again. He said he would get on them upstairs about it.

Wore my pink dress to work today and nearly froze. Bill was all splurged out in a light gray suit and white shoes.
Wally down this evening and he was dressed up too. Terribly cold in the house.
Aunt May call this evening and said that Uncle Jim would be here this weekend.

Got my belt and buttons tonight.
Wally came down to take a walk but we went to the show. “A Notorious Gentleman” and “Private Worlds” Charles Boyer and Claudette Colbert.
Walking home is about all the Romanticism we two get though.

Rushed Uptown this noon in the heat to get a dark blue belt and buttons for my new pink dress but couldn’t find any I liked.
Raining when I came home tonight.
Pressed some clothes took a bath, made a block for my quilt and now I think I’ll go to sleep.
Wally has Sea Scout meeting on Monday evenings from now on.

Such a dull day. I guess worrying about Wally. Read several issues of Laura’s Good Housekeeping, sketched and started to take a walk. But it started raining.
Went to BY. Sat by Arnold Frankhausher. At church sat with Ephid Sachrison.. Wally showed up at Fireside and just wouldn’t be ignored so he brought me home. -Sweet.

To Columbus with Mr. Shelton. All the men complimented me on my hair. Must tell Mrs. Dodrill.
Wore my prom dress to the Sea Scout dance. Wally (Nye Scofield drove) came about 8:15. Got to Buckeye Lake about 9:30. Dance at the Yacht Club. Rather dumb Orchestra- nice place. Got home about 2:00.
