Friday February 22nd 1935
Felt blue all day but rushed home. Had supper quick. Started my bath about 6:15 and finished dressing at 7:45 just as Wally (Nye Schofield, Vernon Gilmore) drove up. So to Sea Scout dance at Williams Grill Westerville. Surely enjoyed myself. Wally was so sweet.
Got home about 1:00 and so to bed. Dead tired.

Went uptown at noon. Got gold clip and earrings at Dunn-Tafts and gold bows at the Union $1.11 and $0.66 respectively.
After work stopped at Corts. Got pair black moire pumps.
Made a block for my quilt tonight- did my nails for the dance tomorrow night.
Mrs. Davis told me tonight when I paid her that she would have to have $5 & $6 a week instead of $4 & $5.

Too much show I guess- had a terrible headache. Tried on my dress and a corset I got for it. Had spare ribs for dinner. Just messed around but had a good time doing. Bernard Brooks met me at the bus to get a letter I had for him from Wally. Talked to a man from Zanesville on the bus.
Mrs. Haldeman took Mary and I through Streletz house. Gorgeous.

Almost finished my Express and parcel post cards. At 12 I ask Bill if I should quit and he said okay if I was going home. Got in on the bus at 2:30. Daddy and Mary were making sausage. They bought a whole hog from Uncle John’s last night. The refrigerator is full. Uptown and got a formal. It has long sleeves. I hope that’s okay. Mary took me to the Palace. George Raft and Carole Lombard “Rhumba”- “Horse Feathers” Four Marx Brothers.

Have to work tomorrow so I’m not going home tonight.
Davis’s wouldn’t let Wally come down. He called so now I’m getting to take a walk with him.
That will surely let them have their living room. He was only down Wednesday of this week. And when he’s the only vice I have I think I might have a few privileges.

Payday but raining so hard I couldn’t go up town so ate at the station. Wally met me after work and I gave him his Valentine. Money to pay his Sea Scout Initiation fee.
Went to Aunt May’s for supper. She sure can cook. Worked on quilt and Floyd and I traded some peace. Came home on the Livingston car. Got here about 10:30. Daddy and mother sent me a heart filled with candy.
