Monday September 2nd 1935 Labor Day
Up about 8:30. Rode bike. Left for Marion about 10:30. Had lunch at Loudonville at 1 and then took back roads to Butler. Mere paths through dense woods at about eighty-five degrees angles up and down. Stopped at gardens on way in. Melons nearly ripe.
Wally took me to see Shirley Temple in “Curly Top” Saw Lewis on way home. Wally jerked car terribly. Popped corn and went to bed early.

Sunday September 1st 1935
Up about 10:00 to Va Kendall Park north of Akron for picnic lunch. Climbed around rocks before lunch. Aunt Sylvia had baked the loveliest cake for Daddy’s birthday. He’s 44 today.
At home rode Wilda’s girl friend’s bike- all of us. Surely nice.
Went to bed rather early. I woke in middle of night with splitting headache. Aunt Sylvia put hot cloths on it and I went to sleep again.

Davis’s went to the fair so I got my own supper. Meant to go to bed early but Mrs. Havens came in and talked and then Davis’s came home and I had to see the quilt and things they bought.
Did my nails and now it’s 10:15.
