Thursday July 20th 1933
Mother took me to the doctor this p.m. and he says I’m just run down. He gave me some terrible tonic and some pills. Took Joe and went down to see Walt. He showed me around and then I stayed for the campfire he built special for me.

Wednesday July 19th 1933
Wrote Walt a letter. He went to camp today. I have my typewriter up here and I nearly suffocated, sick the rest of the evening.

Tuesday July 18th 1933
Daddy let me drive to take some girls of Helen’s Sunday school class to see her at Avondale on the reser[illegible] About 55 miles. Swam about all day. 14 of us. Drove about 125 miles. Waltl brought Joe Bingham down. Left early 11:15.

Monday July 17th 1933
Up late and went to Girl Scout meeting. Mrs. Wiant made me sit in front with her. I had the headache so badly I could hardly hold my head up so I came home and went to bed 9:00.

Sunday July 16th 1933
Sunday school. Went down to Mary’s and then to Helen’s. Esther Wood showed us some pictures she took in Japan. We three kids got milkshakes. Walt came down for supper and B Y. Then we came home. Went [shorthand] sleep [shorthand] woke [shorthand].

Conceived the idea of block printing on linen so I really did some pretty good this evening. Saw Lee Tracy in “The Nuisance” and then Mary Burtch Walt left early and I took him home cause a thunderstorm is coming up. 11:38

Friday July 14th 1933
Painted a chair for my room this afternoon and made some “brownies” for Daddy. Walt came popping along about 8:00. [ shorthand] decided [ shorthand] don’t neck [ shorthand]

Thursday July 13th 1933
Nothing doing! Painted an old dirty chair a cheerful green. I hope it doesn’t clash with the grass. Played solitaire in the summer house this evening and exchanged words with a boy supposed to look like Walt. Made a cute blouse at the total cost of about $0.10 10:30.

Wednesday July 12th 1933
Just one mess after another. I helped Mrs. Wiant with the games at the Sunday School picnic and then after supper Glenn and I went after Walt and picked Mary Burtch up on the way and didn’t get back in time. So there you are. And Glenn and Mary had to walk home.

Exercises, breakfast, practice, mowed lawn, typed songs, music lesson, fixed lawn chair, dinner, washed summer house seats, took Daddy to work, ironed, slept, washed hair, cleaned up, uptown and then to Mary’s for wave, to Lillian’s, library after daddy supper, practice made fudge, read, to bed 9:40.
