Wednesday February 23 1938
Four months- or nearly that. It seems so long. How will I feel four months after June?
Marriage frightens me. I’m sure Walt loves me- now. But with all the mistakes I’m bound to make will he still love me? And he’s so considerate of me. Too much for my good. If I can only keep myself from taking advantage of his consideration.
Letter from him today says he has 3 or 4 houses for me to look at Saturday. But rather discouraging.

Tuesday February 22 1938
Rain again – Looks like another flood in the offing.
Eleanor Ferguson and I went to the Hudson tonight to see Katherine Hepburn & Ginger Rogers in “Stage Door” – one of the best movies I’ve seen recently.

Monday February 21 1938
Aunt May packed my lunch for me. I wish I could do something real nice for her. To work 15 minutes early.
Stan all pleasant and ready to make up after his pouty spell of Thursday & Fri. However I have continued the attitude he forced upon me during that time. See how he likes it.
Washed my hair with Fitch’s Shampoo- So sudsy.
Bath & to bed,

Sunday February 20 1938
Started for Columbus right after Sunday School. Roads slippery after the 2 inch snow last night. Cindered part way. Mother had a good time during her week end and Aunt May served one of her usual delecious dinners.
I stayed at Aunt Mays– Slept on the downstairs davenport.

Saturday February 19 1938
Sick headache- Oh me a whole day wasted. Up & down several times but I couldn’t it. Merlin & Bruce were in for a few minutes. Over to see Bob who was down to see Mary.
Walt & I went uptown about 7:00- and did it snow- But my head was so bad we only stayed about 20 minutes & then home again. And to bed – It took hot cloths to put me to sleep. Wally soo nice.

Friday February 18 1938
Rain—
Mary called about 3:30. She brought mother down. I met her at Fourth & Broad. I drove home- Picked up Willard Rinnert- hitch hiking.
Uncle Allen came over just as we arrived & Milford Hazen was in during the evening. Didn’t do much– and so to bed after sleeping on the davenport till about 12:00.

Thursday February 17 1938
Bought 3 pair hose from Sal today. He showed me the spring shades. Red- Red & Redder. I bought reds but conservatively.
My bridge score this evening was 3040- about double my usual ones and half of it was made at the last table.
Stanley on a rampage again. When his orders are carried out & then he finds he has ordered wrong- watch out.
And he got on me once too often about Xenia tickets getting back to the Entering Dept. last Mon – I didn’t have anything to do with it anymore.

Wednesday February 16 1938
Have my crocheted collar nearly done. Mended this evening. Coats- dresses- hose- etc. Listened to “One Man’s Family” of course.

Tuesday February 15 1938
Oh so tire. Worked so hard this afternoon. Typed 10 claim tracer letters- matched, rated & check Ben’s entry of motor fgt., entered Railroad fgt.- called Express office twice on lost shipment for Ed T.-
Checked routings on about 50 orders from the warehouse- entertained 4 representatives of motor fgt. line while Stan was out. Made copies of two letters for B4 & Comm & answered telephone/ I was exhausted at 4:30.
Willard Durfee called this evening. I may go with him to see Helen Hayes in “Victoria Regina”

Monday February 14 1938
Quite a loquacious nurse that has a case in Delaware. Talked a log off me going down. Slept from Delaware on it.
Candy business jinxed- Only sold 2 bars today.
Should have mended any other thing tonight but listened to the radio & worked on collar. Had a bath & to bed around 9:45.
Wally sent me a valentine telegram. “Load of love, Lots of Kisses, See Friday, Misses”
