Royce called at 7:30 asking to clean Tues instead of today. Started sorting piles of papers but side-tracked to reading Henry Howe’s Historical Collections of Ohio. Indian stories fascinating. Richard Fracoviglia called – will set up appointment with Larry Adams to discuss re-grant program. Wants info on MCHS winning of Sales Ad ‘Let Us Show You Off’ for Local Historian. He had corrections of Martha Jones minutes also! I told him I never had to correct Pat Dugan’s minutes!
Call from Claire Campbell asking for a story of MCHS – spent P.M. working on it.
Mike Griffith stopped by asking where the elephant is buried in Marion. I had a vague recollection of the story but called Carroll Neidhart.
Has snowed 12 days in February but only .8 in. Fla in 40’s and 50’s.

Overcast High 17 low 4 windy
First day I’ve had at home all day since vacation. Spent it writing checks and persuading Howard to actually file his inome tax instead of sending in a blank form and a check for $1,000. Looks like he’ll have about $500 to pay.

Wrote thank you letters to Ed and Sara, Doris, Vivian & David, Arnell – Thnks to her & Delta Kappa Gamma & Betty Gorsuch for contributions to P.O. purchase. Sent Ed 2 copies of Hildreth Genealogy as thanks for giving me the Empire mirror that was in Mrs. Williams house in Somerset that Mary Sheneman bought. Sent Doris 1 copy – Now they have them for all their kids. House only about 55 all day. 15 with -15 wind chill factor. Finally tacked blanket over TV room door to keep out draft. Spent evening in rec room in basement.
Reading Marjorie Dickey Parson’s Genealogy – such an involved family.
Mary out and we settled up for trip. Total cost $442.
Called Kristi – She has packing done and will move things to storage tomorrow. Will stay with Antrim’s Mon & Tues night before leaving for Air Force next Wed.

Wrote Evan Adams with Reg. Rep Duties letter culled from one sent Chris Nixon.
Took branch of pepper berry & oranges & stopped at Martha Neville’s* on way to Center. Ruth Mosher there too. Howard Berry in to do research among Huber records. He pointed out record of H.D. Hemmerly who purhased tractor in 1938 that Howard now owns. Dick West in bragging about Union Station progress & dismissing as unimportant that he didn’t show up last two Saturdays to videotape Judge Myer’s lectures. Gary Barnhart in to research newspapers.
Went to Isaly’s for supper 7 the Mosher’s came in to eat with me.

9:30 Class of ’33
10:30 Dr. Cook and
7:00 MCHS reakBoard
To Isaly’s for Class breakfast. John Houser came alone – 2 mo. ago Martha was with him & last month they were absent because Martha was in hospital. He tried so hard to act brave. I left early for appointment with Dr. Cook but found is was for 1:30. I’ve mislaid my date book. He worked me in & pared the corn & packed it with salve. Back next week to decide what to do.

Grocery shopped at Kroger’s. Picked up letter from Ertle& purchase order for 3,000 model Cockshutt model tractors from Mark Bauer to make copies for Willis. Also called Anna Mae Schwaderer and asked for Huber Assoc. files saying Schwaderer Farm Supply will buy back at wholesale any unsold units.
TO MCHS board meeting. Contract not ready to sign for P.O. purchase.
Finally got through to Evan Adams at Butler with invitation to be Reg. 2 Rep. He asked for more info. also found he is a preservation consultant. Might want to work on P.O.
