Sunday August 11th 1935
Went out to Rosina’s tonight. A girlfriend from Cleveland there. Had delicious homemade ice cream and chicken. Met Bob Haldeman and the six of us went to Galion (goodness knows what for) and then to Seccarin Park. Danced and rode on Merry go Round. Saw lots of Marion kids (Lil Hankel) and did Babs go for Bob and vice versa -disgusting.
Stopped at Bucyrus for Cokes. (“We don’t do that in Cleveland”) (“Everybody does in Cleveland”) Me home first so I can get some sleep 12:00

And did it rain.
Daddy and mother met Wally and I at end of car line. Got about 5 miles out of Worthington and the rain trounded[sic] the car out. Sat for about one half hour till it stopped. Road like a river with water running over it. Wheat fields washed into [illegible] and valleys like lakes.

Ate before 12:00 and went to Lazarus. Bought a tablecloth for mother $3.60. I thought it was pretty nice. She’s 45 today.
Louis and Walt came down this evening. Walked over to Big Bear and got some pretzels and then to Kyle’s for a Coke. Bought Louis some wafers and they were stale.

Approached bill on the subject of a raise again. He said that’s what the figuring was for and that he’s only getting half what Sheilds did so I guess we’re both in the same boat.
Wally called- bath- read Ho-Hum.

Wally losing job finally got the best of me. I’m afraid I made him miserable by crying but it’s over my poor ?Fay? too. He is sweet.

Olga Granger rode with Mr. Shelton this morning too.
Wally came about 7 and we went bicycling. Mostly uphill and down by the river. Such a mess. When we finally got out here was a big “No trespassing” sign and I am sore. Wally he won’t have his job after this week. Oh me.

Up at 7:30 and to church at 8. Neva to be married to Jimmy*. Had no flowers except daddy’s glads. They were beautiful. Simple wedding. Taught a Sunday school class. Got quite a kick from it. Sat with Helen Wood at church.
She went with us to Uncle Hen’s (nobody home) Uncle Guy’s (nobody home) and Floys.
