Thursday October 24th 1935
Stopped at Lazarus for a pair of hose $0.55.
Finished the white on my quilt. Now all I have to do is join it.
Got a new typewriter from the advertising Department. A lot better than the one I had though.
Bath- nails- bed 10:00.
Was 15 minutes early this morning and Bill just made it!
Got a letter from Wally and enjoyed it before I started work.

Wednesday October 23rd 1935
Of course when I get to work 10 minutes early Bill would be 10 minutes late.
Turned cold today. We can get ready for winter now I guess.
Finished cutting white for my quilt and have only two more to piece. Laura gave me enough for two blocks.. I ran out.
Called Aunt May and she’s expecting us all out over the week-end. Even invited Wally out for Sunday dinner!

Tuesday October 22nd 1935
Streetcar Went right off and left me so I was late again. Oh Dear.
Laura told me last night that she and Ed are to be married soon. He got a suit yesterday and she got a blue velvet dress today. I wish it were me and Walt. (Such grammar.)
Quilt coming along fine.
Wrote a letter to Wally and took it to the mail box in the rain. Nice soft warm rain though

Monday October 21st 1935
Waiting on three trains going to Shelton’s. Got to Columbus about 7:30. Mr Shelton took his dog to the university so I took a car and got to work about 8:35. Bill wanted to know if I could get to work a little earlier on Monday. I said yes by spending a dollar a week more. He doesn’t want me to spend my money though. So I didn’t take any lunch hour. Worked on $800 Nat. Dist. Fire claims.
By doing 2 a night I can have all the white on my quilt by Thursday evening.

Sunday October 20th 1935
Sunday School. Aunt Zella and Uncle Roy* here for dinner. Wally and I cut houses- food- decoration articles from magazines. BY. Bernard Brooks and Rosina down afterwards. Had some cider that Wally got last night. Too hard for me. Had a good time though.
I love Wally. We went to bed about 11:00. I had a bath. Before BY we walked around up town and Wally got me some carmel crisp and lemons.

Saturday October 19th 1935
Up about 9:00. Pounded on the garage. After dinner Wally, Mary and I walked uptown to see “Freckles”. Commercial Motor Freight building a new terminal on Oak Street. Home about 6:00. Wally has his suit all paid for now. We two drove out in the country to do some twilight sketching in charcoal. Mary and Bob were in for the evening. Mary doesn’t feel very good. After they left I got sick headache so Wally took care of me.

Friday October 18th 1935
Home on 5:30 bus. Daddy had been working on the garage so the family had a late supper with me. The garage is taking pretty definite form. I guess Wally worked pretty hard on it today. Read paper- listened to radio. Went to bed about 11 p.m.
Wally woke me at 3:30 with a glass of water. A Clark Bar and 12 pennies. So sweet.

Thursday October 17th 1935
Nothing to write. Made two blocks of my quilt tonight.
Explored Bill’s desk today. I’m going to see if I can’t get it really cleared off once.

Wednesday October 16th 1935
I didn’t think Wally would mind so much because I forgot to kiss him goodbye Monday morning but from his letter he was terribly hurt. I’m glad I had sent him a nice letter.
Sewed- mended- bath etc. [illegible] my new nail polish. I guess I’m too conservative anymore. I used to think rose was pretty.

Tuesday October 15th 1935
Rushed up to the Fashion this noon and got a tailored peach satin slip. $1.69.
Also some candy and nail polish. Felt terrible after all that rushing.
Hope I’m not as dumb as the stenographer upstairs Bill was talking about.
Adjusted sides of slip tonight. Wrote Wally. Mended and so to bed.
