Trella Hemmerly – 1935-12-22

Sunday December 22nd 1935
Sunday school. About 2 we went over after Mrs. Burch and Mary to go to the hospital to see Mary Lee. She is tiny but not as small as I expected. Gave Mary the dress and slip for her. Terribly snowy. They came to our house for a little afterwards. Played with some Christmas games and had popcorn.
To church about 6:45 for seats for the pageant. We sat in the balcony. Walt helped with lights. I’ve seen better ones but Mrs. Epley was good.

Rained- froze and then snowed- such weather.
Irwin drove number 2 into a telephone pole- a man nearly smashed Bill’s Truck.
Got stuff ready to take home- listen to Rudy Vallee- made one hanky and half another.
So to bed 10. Wash my hair tonight.

Just a little more and my Christmas shopping will be done. Got garters for Uncle Perry- false teeth brush for Grandma- printed silk and sachet powder to make sachets.
Parker cut soles to fit in the heel of my boot after work. Low heels didn’t fit.
Both my shoulder straps broke on my slip while shopping and I barely made it to the MJ Store before it fell off. They let me use their restroom to fix it. Got hose for Mary from Mother there. Crocheted this evening.
