As Dr. Axthelm had said I could go to work today I did – for about 2 hrs to straighten ou check book & to Dr’s office for bandage change & straight to bed. I was not able to do it.
[later:] Phillip Case (County Sanitation) stopped to see if Wood Valley had coplied with sanitation standards.

Monday, March 23, 1970
Looked at Kathi’s photo album of her kids. Don’t know how she keeps them up to date.
Called Genevieve Beers & she will work over Easter.

Sunday, March 22, 1970
Shop people all worked getting plants ready.
Quiet day – Mostly in bed. Kristi is so good. Only cries when hyungry. Kathi is nursing her & she eats pureed fruit. Davy is a joy. Pats Kristi and says “My baby sister.”

Saturday, March 21, 1970
Kathi took me to Dr. Axthelm to have stitches out. Walt Haldeman, Ruth Ruhlman & all my family out for pictures. I went down to rec room with them but had to get to bed. Putting in septic tanks across road.

Friday, March 20, 1970
Pain gone by Friday evening.
Don called & says he will drive up to pick Kathi up next Wednesday. Brooks’ & Jordan’s* stopped in on way back from smorgasbord**.

Thursday, March 19, 1970
Terrible pain when I tried to walk. Mary took me to Dr. Axthelm. He says I’m OK. Pain pills he gave me make stomach hurt. Davy so good – “helps” me get up & put on my slippers.

Wednesday, March 18, 1970
Mother stayed all night but I had to get my own meals. David- Mary & Rocky went to Columbus to pick up Kathi & kids at airport. Furnace big noise so had to go down & turn it off. Good to have Kathi home.

Tuesday, March 17, 1970
Dr. Axthelm in at 8:30 & said I could go home. Maggie came & loaded me up. Went to mother’s until mary off & they brought me home. David & Karen out for supper & doing things. Cats glad to see me. Donner washed my hair.

Monday, March 16, 1970
No medication – Just feed me & take temp. Down to 148 1/2 lbs from 156 when came in. Reading “Environmental Handbook” – joined FOE & ZPG. Wrote President Nixon & Don & Carl Sims about pollution.

Sunday, March 15, 1970
Able to read some. Mary brought mother & Ruth Ruhlman to see me. Virginia Kear roommate calls friends and tells them to send her flowers. Her visitors drive me nuts. Cigars & loud.
