In at 1:00 for Nora Baker’s funeral. Invited Fanny, Floy, Loren & Jessie, Doris & Stewart & Mother out here for supper. Had a meat loaf in & had baked potatoes, lima beans & apple pie. Good to have a visit with Doris. Danny is in Alaska.

Carrol Neidhart, Joan Van Oesten & I to courthouse to file the referendum petition against the county commissioners carrying out their resolution that implemented current remodeling – Ray Denzer in Board of Elections didn’t know what to do with it, but we filed it in Auditor’s Office.

Listed phone numbers for all MCHS members & Joan Van Costen picked them up to line up peeple to circulate petitions to place courthouse remodelling on the ballot in June.
Exchanged gloves Mary Jordan gave me for size 8 1/2 & bough “First to Last” hose for Mary Rockwell to replace too small ones I gave her for Christmas. Took year end reports to Grady.
Wove – using soumak & Indian tie weaves as well as plain.
Corrol Neidhart called saying resolution & petitions are being printed by Bernard Brooks at Hall-Beck tonight & affidavit will be filed tomorrow with Board of Elections.

In bed with headache until 1 – Bath – washed hair, use new dryer gift from shop gang. Walk in woods with Howard. Fixed sweet & sour pork & squash for supper.
Worked on Historical Society dues mailing. Rearranged desk drawers. Will be very convenient having it in living room. Howard put cup rack in China cupboard. Bed at 12.

Bill Lehmers – salesman in. Bought sparingly $265.
Carrol Neidhart called saying he found a Columbus lawyer to advise us & how we will file to have courthouse remodelling put on ballot if we can geet 2,500 registered voters to sign.
Called Kathi & Bob. Connie had called them. Has kidney infection.)

Ruth Edwards died. She was 86 & had been very active until this spring – attending Quest Club & Burroughs Club Meetings.
Set up the loom Howard gave me for Christmas with the warp – Even that is interesting.

Connie left for Salt Lake this AM to visit a boy friend. Big funeral day – 61 pieces a record I think. Judy off so I did daily work & deposit. Called Kathi & Bob, but they were at Ballet in Salt Lake so talked to baby sitter & the kids.

Called Margaret Barnhart to tell her I wouldn’t be at Quest Club & she said I had the program on birds. So I came home, got David’s movie & showed it & talked on backyard birding.

Brooks-Jordans-Romines-Rockwells-Hutchmans- & Walt & Olgua* earlier – here to bring in New Year. Walt brought a prophecy I had written in 1939 to be read Dec 31, 1974. Served ham, cranberry salad & date pudding left from shop dinner.
Up at 10:30 to watch Rose Bowl Parade. Ohio State band & All Ohio Youth Choir represented Ohio. Mary Jordan’s granddaughter marched in choir. To Mary & Rocky’s for sauerkraut and pork. Back home and finished moving furniture. China closet book case by door in TV room & desk from my bedroom to living room. So Cal won game over O State 18-17.
