Wednesday, April 9, 1975
Clarence, Dave & Martha put up the arbor last night & moved the wrong display case into the wedding room.
To see Mother at 3:30 and Rocky at 4 – But he was sleeping so couldn’t go in. Met Mary in driveway coming back as I left. Home at 7:00 – popcorn for supper. Cliff Mitchell called – Jackie delivered a boy at 7:30. Just one year ago Benjamin was born.

Tuesday, April 8, 1975
To hospital to go with Mother when moved by Boyd Ambulance to Marion Manor. To lunch with Eleanor Zieg Hunt who wanted to sell me real estate, but Ruby [Graham] had already called saying Weston’s had signed contract on 418 Merchant for $34,500.
Stopped to see Mother again.
Rocky brought some cactus to shop to sell me $20 and I gave him some that just came in. At 6 call from Mary at hospital that Rocky had had a heart attack. Just bringing him to ICU as I got there. By 7 he had stabilized so I called Kate Gillen to be with Mary & went to Altrusa 50th anniversary dinner at club – 150 there.

Monday, April 7, 1975
Ruby Graham called on 418 Merchant – tried to get hold of Bill Hutchman to look at it but couldn’t locate him. Told her to make $34,500 offer.
To Mary’s for supper & then she & I went to see Don Cooper’s “Canadian Holiday.” So witty along with excellent pictures.

Sunday, April 6, 1975
Howard in with me & stayed at Mary & Rocky’s while I did wedding at Greenwood Church. Then down to see Mother. She’s well but won’t admit it. Home and burned sticks down from wind & started on area near David’s tree house. Paris & Helen stopped out. Did payroll after they left.

Saturday, April 5, 1975
Usual hectic Saturday. Big wedding at First Nazarene. First one in their new church. At 3 Ruby Graham picked me up to show houses. All duds except 418 Merchant. Cape Cod outside. Near schools. New carpets throughout – all draperies. Asking $36,000 – but that’s what they’re asking for a square house on Forest St!

Thursday, April 3, 1975
Woke to snow on roof – temp 28 – windy. David to market early. Karen & I nice breakfast. David home at 10:30 and we left for Nature Center. Cold and no sun but daffodils gorgeous. So many on all the hills. Bird watched from Nature Center. Purple finch and towees plus expected ones. Took back roads home to David’s. Barbecue ribs from Col. Sanders for lunch. I left about 2:30 & stopped by hospital at 5:30. Mother eating but not liking the food. Mary met me at shop & we went to Quest Club Guest Day. Trinity Bell Ringers.

Wednesday, April 2, 1975
Gorgeous Spring Day.
Visited Mother at hospital. In chair eating. Left for Cinci at 1:30 Arrived David’s at 4:30. All (Eric & Linda) working on building a “pig” over the Mazda for the Reds Opening Monday. Too much to do on it to go to the Nature Center as planned. Karen had a good dinner. Watched “School for Scandal” on TV. Temp 75.

Tuesday, April 1, 1975
Wrote checks all day. Took MCHS report to Star. Then to visit Mother. Have stopped IV’s as they couldn’t get it into her veins. Ruth Kramer died in hospital this AM.
Sally Byrnes took me to see houses on Vernon Hgts Blvd – $50,00. Virginia $60,000, Homer $33,000, Seffner $32,000 & Chateau Ridge 44 & 49 thou!
Back to hospital after supper at “Friendly Ice Cream” Mary in while I was there.
Called Kathi at 11:00. She had snow, rain, wind & fog – drove 1,600 miles & spent $70. Visited Uncle Allen too. Says he & Ruth look older. They are 80!

Monday, March 31, 1975
Total Easter figures $600 under last year but cash sales up $500!
To see Mother about 11 and while waiting to get into her room orderly wheeled Ruth Kramer to solarium & I had a nice chat with her.
Mother looking better – but still on liquid diet.
Back at 6 to see her & dinner at Ponderosa – Sat with Edna H. Then to MCHS meeting – Camera Club – didn’t have courthouse pictures ready.About 50 there.
