To Boston by 9. Visited Burial grounds, Park St. Church, walked across Commons. Public Gardens, along Beacon St. Photographed gold dome of capitol & spend 1/2 hr trying to find Fanueil Hall but one way streets curving were too much for us. Headed for Plymouth via freeway & here was Fanueil Hall right by it! Hot at Plymouth but toured Mayflower II & the Wax Museum. Too tired to go to Plymouth Plantation. Kathi had headache so didn’t stop at Saybrook where Alexander Chalker lived. All night at Howard Johnson in Milton, Conn.

Woke up to rain – & it did off & on all day. Took pictures at workshop & finally have FTD through my head on P/L. Lunch in room. Drove out to find laundramat, passed Craigsville Beaach, Old Harbor Candle Co. & the Kennedy Compound & found it (Laster found it was 3 blocks from the hotel!)
Shopped in Hyannis – Bought books, leather flower, rings for kids & wondered how these shops stay in business. Dinner at Friendly Ice Cream & back to hotel – Kids to move here. Kathi & I packed – Talked to David Sommers, woodcarver in lobby. He knows Spindler.

Breakfast in room – class at 8:30. Marketing – not much help to me – I know my area too well. 12 of us loaded into my card & Mike’s at 12:45 for the Ocean Street Docks & the 2 hr boat trip on the Brant Point – $8 – to Nantucket. A little choppy but pleasant. Nantucket looks like a stage setting – Everything is too perfect. Cobblestone Streets. Too 1 1/2 hr bus tour – Island is 14 miles long – acres of bayberry. Shopping – bought scrimshaw & copper enamel (Kathi – a 5 & 12 lavalier at $28) 8:00 boat back – docked at 10 & back into Hyannis traffic.

Finished Shop Operations & started Marketing. Gave us our own area marketing survey figures. I have 1/2 the business & there are 4 shops!
Took kids to pool.
The 4 of us drove up to Rt 6H & enjoyed that route best of any. Houses are all “Cape Cod” & well kept. Stopped at Corporation Beach – Long shallow. Kids enjoyed that. Clams for me eating outdoors & then to Rock Harbor. Tide out so we walked on tidal flats for nearly 2 hrs. Watched terns feed babies, sun go down, tide turn, crabs swim & got our shoes wet. Called Marian Ray & will visit them Sat. PM. Called Mary – everything ok.
