Up at 7 to be at Harding by 8:45 for vocational talk to 2 classes. Back to shop by 11 & everything under control. Barry only worked until 2. I left at 5 and took meatto Ellen Imbody (that she bought at Market) & a deliver in Yorkshire. Home for supper – pumpkin pie that Betty Swanson gave me for her transportation. Back to Altrusa Business meeting. Alphabetized while there & after I got home. Watch Cincinnati Reds beat Boston Red Sox 6-5. David played with band for the game.

David to market to clean up & back while Karen & I at breakfast. Left about 11 and headed south along Ohio River through Lawrenceburg, Aurora & Madison to Clifty Falls. Trees so colorful. Stopped at “Trader’s Point” – Bought basket $3 & white old chair $5. Left Sarah with Grandma Meister on way in & to downtown Cincinnati for dinner at La Normandie – had red snapper with Bournaise Sauce. Picked Sarah up & back to David’s. Packed & left about 9:15. Home at 12:15 160 miles.

Brunch & final session. Packed & left hotel ($35 for 2 nights – each) & drove the 16 miles to David’s. We left about 1 on trip. Stopped at Hauck Museum on Dayton Street. Historical Designated area, but all blacks live there. Then to North Bend. Saw Wm. Henry Harrison monument. To Shawnee Lookout but can’t see where Great Miami & Ohio meet – only a power plant. Then across Whitewater River & followed it north in Indiana to Metamora – restored mill & log cabin village along old canal. Picnic & left about dark. Home about 9 – Just talked. Sarah travels so well.

Up at 6:30 & took Betty & Ellen Imbody down to Findlay Market. Really fresh and beautiful at 7:30 AM. David’s stand busy as usual. Missed breakfast, but in time for conference session. After 3:15 dismissal took Alberta Kilbury, Mildred Foos & Margaret Helen Gast down to Market & up on Eden Park Lookout. Dressed up for banquet at 7:30. Wonderful standing rib roast dinner, but Letha Brown was lethal in her history of Altrusa.

Picked Betty Swanson up about 9:15 & headed for Cincinnati. Missed Cross County Highway & was almost late for bus trip around Cincinnati. Karen on bus with Sarah who was the star of the show. Stopped at Krone Conservatory & Meiers Winery where David joined us. Karen, David, Sarah & I to “Charlie’s Crab” for dinner. Great seafood. Then me back to Carrousel Inn for opening of Altrusa Conference. Fogy morning cleared to a beautiful warm evening.
