To Adrian’s Beauty Shop & got hair cut & set & combed out in 70 minutes. To Arisans’ Guild – Eleanor Guy on “Astro Glass”. Took Kathi to dinner at Turrofs & bought $7.50 Kimberly pants suits.

Thursday, January 7, 1971
Cold but sunny – cleaned closets trying to get rid of moths. Everything I left in greenhouse frozen. – To Kathi’s for supper. To Quest Club – will be Program Chairman for next year.

Wednesday, January 6, 1971
Took the wild kittens to Dr. McClasky for euthanasia – $9! But such a releif not to have to worry with them. Stopped at Lockwood’s [Lumber Company] & made arrangements to extend living room to East.

Tuesday, January 5, 1971
Waited till 2 for Sears man to come. Found nothing wrong with washer & burners are broken in greenhouse stove & can’t get any for 2 weeks. Kent out & took us 1 hr. to cathc the 3 wild kittens.

Monday, January 4, 1971
Temp up to 58 and then down to 20!. Stove in greenhouse full of smoke.

Sunday, January 3, 1971
Slept till 10, Spent all day “redding” up. Kathi & kids out. Walked in woods & Davy discovered “Hollow trees”. Temp 40. Washer overflowed on new carpet.

Saturday, January 2, 1971
MAggie not speaking to me – or Kathi! Phyllis Hinamon appointment at Trinity Lutheran. Told Maggie to check out before she put coat on. Supper with Kathi – finished inventory $7,500! Kent & Jeanne stopped here.

Friday, January 1, 1971
Davy wanted his bed & told me to “go sleep with mommy” – watched Rose Bowl Parade at Kathi’s. To Mary & Rocky’s for sauerkraut. Took them & Mother to Killdeer. Christmas inventory from 5 to 10.

Killdeer Wildlife Area Christmas Bird Count – 12 participants incl David for few hours. Me with David & Al Mogg PM. 45 species 34,000 individuals.
