Lost Fite Memorial account becasue I told the [illegible] we would deliver the church flowers in time for their wedding! Kathi & Don took Shorty to Fountain City – took mother to LaRue for delivery. Shopped.

Sunday, October 24, 1971
Planted cacti gardens. Rainy day but still no frost. To Marcella Haldeman’s for supper. Cider & apples at Oberlanders. Their divorce not final – trouble on property settlement.

Saturday, October 23, 1971
Left Morristown & up over Clinch Mountain – but still cloudy. Trees shedding some but still pretty. Home about 9:30. Shorty & Don brought me out to unload. Bought glassware at Cumberland Gap.

Friday, October 22, 1971
Visited booths at craft fair. Drove to Morristown & visited with Joe & Doris Sheneman & family for couple hours. Got motel in Morristown.

Thursday, October 21, 1971
Drive to Cherokee beautiful – shopped at Indian stores. Davy’s “friendly indians” were 2 children at laundromat. Cloudy on pass. Nice motel in Gatlinburg. Craft fair so-so.

Wednesday, October 20, 1971
Drove E of Fontana & sluiced for rubies! Color gorgeous. Cabin adequate. Kathi & Don went to movie in Recreation Hall.

Tuesday, October 19, 1971
Kathi – DOn – Davy – Kris – Shorty & I in Decker’s car off for Smokies. Beautiful day. Picnic south of Cincinnati – fall color gorgeous. Road from Maryville to Fontana Village very winding. Arrived 7:00.

Monday, October 18, 1971
Got $18 tan suede shoes at Wilson’s. Had Dr. Vornholt adjust partial. Packed for trip.

Sunday, October 17, 1971
Planted tulips. Mary & Rocky & Mother out – beautiful day. Kathi & Don to Fountain City yesterday to bring Shorty back for trip.
