Rocky cleaned trash from under front of 552 N. Greenwood. A mess. Shop very busy & Caarolyn off sick. Altrusa new members meeting. I presented sesqui “Celebrate Belles” & 27 signed!

Rocky scraped up trash from 552 N. Greenwood. I helped clean basement dog dirt & smell! – Skipped Burroughs.

Sunday, February 20, 1972
Lazy day – Studied German. For walk PM. Cold but sunny. Trimmed branches. Watched Nixon’s arrival in Peking on TV. No common people to welcome – Chou en Lai at airport.

Saturday, February 19, 1972
Lillian working. Several wedding appointments.
Brooks & Jordan’s took me to dinner at Hotel Harding. & I took them to “Watch on the Rhine” Little Theatre.

Friday, February 18, 1972
Feb 15 Letter from Kathi. Had all utilities transferred to my name. Howard cooked beef broth & we had noodles for supper. Mary & Rocky & Mother out of [sic]4 rolls of Kathi films with her tape. They have new Sears tape recorder. Had Mosel wine & cheese.

Kathi called! 7:30 AM – Sears replaced relay in washer $32! – Raked locust pods & buried fox. Mailed film to Kathi. Supper with Mary after stopping at 552 – To shop – German class – Board meeting of Historical Society & Quest Club.

Wednesday, February 16, 1972
Sick! Headache. In to shop & figured Valentine business – 23 days $3600 – over 500 orders plus regular business. Home at 4 & right to bed.

Tuesday, February 15, 1972
In style show for women’s kick-off at OSUM.
Lillian in for front room. Isabell going to Fla for a month. Got income tax report from Grady. Income $32,000 – have paid $7,200 & owe $1,650 more!

Monday, February 14, 1972
Pretty smooth day. All 3 phones rang constantly. Made about 200 deliveries. – 75 rose orders – about 60 doz. Finished about 7. I took last deliveries to New Bloomington & Caledonia. Mary Rockwell did far out country deliveries.

Sunday, February 13, 1972
Breakfast with Karen & David. In to shop about 10:30 – Everyone on funeral work & Valentines. Brought in chicken etc. for noon feed. I took Mother on deliveries – Visited Maggie’s. he’s still very weak. Watched Ben Hur & Cleopatra on TV.
