Monday, April 10, 1972
Slept late but couldn’t resist kids peeking in to see if I was awake. On base with Kathi for bank – PO – etc. At Dispensary for nurse to look at seepage of incision.

Sunday, April 9, 1972
Sunrise at 3 AM over the Atlantic – Plane full. 250 people. New Frankfort airport confusing but finally found Deckers! Davy showed me “Vinyards”. To Mehlingen about 4:00. Just like pictures. Temp about 55 – to bed early.

Saturday, April 8, 1972 – Flight to Europe
Drove to Mother’s to leave car. Mary, Rocky & Mother took me to Port Columbus- David & Karen – Brooks & Jordans there to see me off. Bob Morris met me at LaGuardia-Dinner with them & then to Kennedy. 9:00 flight posted for 11:00 & actually left at 1:00 AM. Called Barb Parker.

Friday, April 7, 1972
Ice storm – trees covered – temp 22. Balanced check book. Need $17,500 more this month. Bough red nylon jacket $13 & pjs for Davy. Cleared desk & left shop at 6 to do Cochran wedding at N. Canaan. Packed until midnight.

Thursday, April 6, 1972
“First Day of Spring”- Sunny and temp to 70- transplanted bulbs from pots & set out pussy willows. To work at 1:00. Wrote checks. To Quest Club Dorothy King Isaly present Historical slides.

Wednesday, April 5, 1972
Worked on Mother’s Day orders. Everyone left early & Sis & Martha took me out to dinner at Bona Vista – when we got there the whole crew – 13 of them was there! Gave me $30 for Europe.

Tuesday, April 4, 1972
In at noon after sorting paper etc for trip. Broiled steak for supper. Worked till 1:00 packing & weighing bags. For Easter we filled 700 plant orders- 650 corsages- 400 misc.

Monday, April 3, 1972
David wouldn’t eat breakfast-but Judge Robinson suspended fine & court costs* because he was “bringing chili to Hemmerly’s” David & Karen left about noon for Cincinnati.

[* David got stopped by a Marion policeman for running a stop sign at George and Farming Streets. He did actually stop, but behind the stop sign and out of sight of the cop.]
