Sally cleaned – Kent out for odd jobs & Indiana Glass salesman helped him hook up pump. 25 here for Burroughs Club picnic. including Mother who wouldn’t eat. Cleaning Graves Creek a problem.

Sunday, May 21, 1972
Set out marigolds & impatiens & salvias. At 3:30 took Mother to Richwood to call on BlancheYarrington at funeral home. Stopped at County Home- but Annie [Gunderman] in hospital. Planted geraniums on Emmanuel & Lucy Sheneman graves. Brooks & Jordans stopped by at 9.

Saturday, May 20, 1972
To Columbus – Casco – bought about $1,000 supplies. Hope this keeps them from bankruptcy. Also to Hills. Auld wedding at 6:30 – shop not too busy.

Friday, May 19, 1972
Rocky out with speaker to hang on porch for bird calls. He & Mary left about 2 for Fla. Showed Greenwood St. house – had Schneiders fix spouting – basement a mess.

Thursday, May 18, 1972
Sally cleaned inside & I mowed outside. Quest Club committee arrived at 4. Lenore Bondley pick lily of valley for all tables. 28 here. Anne Bennett- New Fed president – guest. Finished & gone by 9:00.

Wednesday, May 17, 1972
Met Mrs. Mitchell at 552 N. Greenwood to show house. Mud 2″ deep in basement from broken spout. To Harding to give talk & I had wrong time & room! To Virginia Howard’s for shish kabobs & Europe talk.

Tuesday, May 16, 1972
Howard left for North Carolina Mts. Doesn’t know when he’ll be back. To Mary & Carl Jordan’s for dinner. Gave Brooks German pictures of their villages. Gave each a “muscade” jar with chocolate sprinkles.

Monday, May 15, 1972
River flooding again. Bad storm last night. Filled about 12 left-over Mother’s Day orders. 2 Mothers refused them. Cooked steak for Howard & my supper. Took storm widnwos out. Cold & rainy.

Sunday, May 14, 1972 Mother’s Day
Slept till noon – Sat till 3:00 when Mary, Rocky & Mother out. Served cake David gave me. Mitchell’s & Schultz’s out – Cliff caught mosquito larvae & tadpoles. Rain about 6 & again about 9:00.

Everyone hard working when I got in at 8:00. Mary dispatching. Debby L & Pic on phones. Isabelle, Genevieve & Lillian – show room. Connie, Jane, Pat & Debbie S. – corsages. David in at noon to help. Wes, Carolyn & Barry deliveries. Kent, Martha, Sis & Maggie design.
