Pic working while Alice on vacation. Had car lube, oil change, wipers fixed. To see Genevieve Beers evening. Just out of hospital. Found low white corpuscle count.

Howard trimming locust by greenhouse & I trimmed along river. Fanny, Floy, Mary Baker out with Mother. Floy caught 2 catfish. Made German tapes for Lisa Haldeman.

Saturday, July 29, 1972
Mark Webb delivering. Caroline on vacation. LaRue wedding. Took car to Mutter’s service station for inside & outside cleaning. Got corn at Burrey’s. Good. Evening light lovely at Terradise. Howard had all mowed. They moved trailers so none across from me.*

[*Wood Valley Mobile Homes had a sales lot right across the road]

Sally cleaned. I weeded front bank & with Howard’s help mowed part not in day lilies. David called. Wants me to come down next week. Has movie projector fixed. Cost $20.

Hair cut & set at Marquis shop near Plaza. Molly moved! Howard & I to Marcella Haldeman’s for dinner & I showed European pictures. Lisa anxious for every detail as she is leaving on Sept. 1 for a year in Munich.

Monday, July 24, 1972
Fred Landis in so used my German on him. Sorted slides & finally have them ready to show. About 150 slides but lots of gaps. Sent Karen $25 & candles for her birthday.

Got lunch plates & baked beans ready AM. Doris, Diane & Danny Gibson arrived 12. Good to chat & hear of Diane’s Guam teaching. Ate supper at shop to avoid heat. Jordan’s & Brooks’ out . Sat in tent by pond.

Saturday, July 22, 1972
Trinity wedding at 12 & Greenwood UM at 2:30. Nearly passed out from heat & humidity. Shopped for food for tomorrow. Heavy watermelon for $1.29.
