Cathy Brown’s wedding at St. Mary’s cancelled after ushers had seated guests & bridesmaids were waiting! So I undecorated – shopped at A&P and went home! Laura Kelly’s son into hospital for tests.

Planted 10 Rhododendrens from Boyds – $15.00. Rick stopped to take terrariums back to shop. Howard mowed back in weed area. Planted Virgina Bluebells there. He & I to Mansfield about 5. Daffs & Tublips at Kingwood gorgeous. Wine & book shopped.

Pleasant CCL group out at 7 to tour garden – Cold & no sun. Called Star & WMRN to put in notices for Open Garden next Sunday.

Karen called to see if I’d be home so David could come up. He didn’t get here till 4:30 & the sunny part of the day was gone. Fed him marzetti from Easter. Walked around garden. He played organ – took pictures – He left at 8

Monday, April 23, 1973
Easter week up over $1,000 from last year, excluding funeral. Complaints on hydrangeas. Took Mary to Burroughs Club guest day at Community UM Church. Slides & speakers from Columbus Metro Park System.

Sunday, April 22, 1973
EASTER
Woke at 9 – Breakfast on deck. Howard trimming euonymous on patio bank. In to shop at 10:30 to supervise Pete delivering 30 funeral pieces. Only a few customers. To Rockwell’s for lunch. THey & Mother out about 3 & we took pictures.

Saturday, April 21, 1973
In about 7:45 – Mary started routing deliveries at 6:30. 6 delivery personnel & Dave’s “Dutch Shoes” & “Happy Nests” made in advance made everything smooth. Sent Debby on a wedding – Rocky drove – & she forgot makeup! Up on Easter about 3:30. I made corsages for 1 1/2 hrs. Home at 7:30.

Mary took over delivery routing. Picked up U Haul truck. Me & Pic on phones – Isabelle, Lil & Edna out front. Took Marzetti in that Sally made. Dave, Sis & I worked until 10:00. Jackie Mitchell in & helpedl Dave on “Shoes” & “Nests”

Thursday, April 19, 1973
Toads singing. Took pictures. Mary & Rocky had Woof [their cat] put to sleep. She was 20. Picked daffs before going in. Headache but Isabelle gave me a rub & a nap & I was ok. Jumped Martha for sending at 12.50 centerpiece for 9 & a $10 azalea for $8 so she went home but came back about 7. All working until 9:00.

Wednesday, April 18, 1973
Pace picking up – over $1,000 work today. Grocery shopped to feed shop gang on Friday. Up to Mother’s to check on plant wrapping & had snack with her. David called. Took ground test for flying.
