Sunday March 19th 1978 – Wood Ducks and Red Wings flew over.
Howard finished shoveling snow off blacktop on upper driveway. Had started yesterday on the big piles by the mailbox. Bill and Erma* to see the river and flood. Ice still jammed up down by sycamore in river. Later Paris and Helen out. Talked to Bill about putting a bay window in the kitchen and remodeling.

Wednesday March 15th 1978
Down to the “Snoot ‘n Hoof”. Met girl who works it. Seemed busy. Gave her Mary’s sandwich order for $20 and I bought $20 stuff. David and I to a Business Machine Show. Sure would like to have duplicating machine for Historical Society.

Tuesday March 14th 1978
Met Kass and Lillian at Gift Show in Columbus. Bought music boxes, bone china cups and animals. Silks from Paul Minor- seeds for salads- Far East bud vases etc. Left about 3 and I got to David’s about 5:30. Karen left for Altrusa meeting & we had pizzas from David’s new enterprise at the “Snoot ‘n Hoof”. Saw movies of Joshua’s birthday who cried when he saw me, and so I just ignored him until he was ready to make up. Played tape of Theresa’s* story that I made at Allen’s. Karen was bored. Sarah talking a Blue Streak.

Monday March 13th 1978
Cheryl Knapp asked for a conference. She wants a raise from $3.50 an hour to $5.25 an hour so she can split up with Dave! I told her I would go to $4 but no more. She figured I could pay her what I had paid Kathi and her when they were both working!
Had three wedding appointments and one with JC representative. Nancy Elsey is one of the finalists of the Miss Heart of Ohio contest so I’m sponsoring her with a full-page ad $145.
Took Etter’s terrarium & 2 arrangements from shop to Bucyrus for Paul’s calling hours. Solid line of people filing past from 7 to 9. Grocery shopped in Bucyrus $33

Sunday March 12th 1978
Finished reading stacked up papers. Mary and mother out about 2. Showed slides again. Had beef dumplings and they stayed for supper. Called David and may go down Wednesday after going to Gift Show.
Mary will go back to Arizona with me in April to see wildflowers. Will pay her airline ticket for birthday.

Saturday March 11th 1978
In to shop about 11:30 and delivered and serviced Acuna and Lysacht wedding. Rosa Acuna from Lima, Peru and six of her family came. Went through mail. Left shop about 3:30 and came home. Nora Etter called about 7 saying Paul Kuehnle had died at Marion General about 2 pm.
Showed three boxes slides from trip to Howard.
