Had Dave Woessner in. He was sure he was going to be fired and maybe he should have been.
he agreed on the duties of manager that I outlined and laid it on the line with the complaints against him. He had excuses explanations for all but I cut him short to remind him that regardless this is what his peers thought.

Monday April 30th 1979 swallows (Martin’s?) over Wood Valley Lake.
Took Kass with me to meet Laura at Sambo. Talked for 1 and 1/2 hours. Her complaints against Dave all justified but she will stay.
Called all other employees in for their opinions of Dave. All admire his designing ability but deplore his laziness, selfishness, indecisiveness, lack of tact, unawareness of what’s going on, his wasteful buying.
Home at 5:30. Camera club shooting session here. Sunny but cold and windy. Temperature 52. Made sandwiches and coffee for them and had meeting at kitchen table. Barry brought Jane.
Took notes from morning meetings and made up charts for talk with Dave tomorrow morning.

Sunday April 29th 1979 [Open Garden] Daff’s at best- Spring Beauty carpet. Wrens back. 52 partly sunny late afternoon.
Howard helped me clean up the house and good thing as garden visitors had to use bathroom including Mrs. Haley (Jo Stafford’s mother) who is 91. Mary and Kenny brought mother out but too cold for her to be outdoors. But the Ginns [Rev. Ginn Trinity Baptist Church Pastor] came in and talked with her. Toad eggs in pool and two Robin’s Nest in front yard.
Picked Bernhard Brooks up about 6:40 and on to Scantland’s for their “Distinguished Citizens Awards”. Just barely got in on the buffet before George III started handing out the plaques. Glad Forest Loudenslager and Ula Watts got one too so I knew some. Jan Petras, Clyde Forbes, George Brown, John Courtwright, Mr. Cole was “Man of the Year.”
Home by 9 and had quite a time resetting my digital watch for daylight savings time.
Kass called and said Laura had called saying she is resigning in 2 weeks! Fed up with Dave Woesner as everyone is. He doesn’t carry his share of the load.
