Rain finally. So Hutchmans [illegible] had noon picnic here – with warblers & then off to Mohican about 2:00. Nice trip. Supper in park & home about 7:30. To bed early.

Cleaned living room good! & re-arranged. Mary & Guy SImon dropped in just as I was getting bath! Wonderful visit. Enthusiastic about house. Here till 10:30 (from 7:00) Kathy to football game & all night with Phyllis Kile. Hot – 83 – mowed lawn.

Scattered manure. Hot! Photgraphed marigolds & petunias. To Garden Club Meeting. Mrs. Dulomel’s [sic?] beautiful home. Then out to collect – only $12! Worked till 8 on it. Made 2 corsgaes then home. Picked up bedroom & bed at 11:20. Wood ducks still around but only heard them.

In to work at shop. Mr. Tobin of Western Southern brought check for $5,096 for Ray’s Insurance. Deposited $4500 at Marion Federal & $596 at Fahey checking. Saw Frank Spencer at bank. Took corn to Paris & he’s been sick. Corn & manure to Dad Romine. Mother & Daddy & Mary out – brought “Fella II” [cat[ Gave Daddy Ray’s clothes.

Warblers galore in Hawthorn’s both A.M. & P.M. Tennessee, Myrtle, black-throated green, bay-breasted. In at 10:00 for permanent by Helen Leonard at cottage. $7.50 Too curly. Sent out wedding bills – 18 of ’em. Got manure at Stumbo’s & Mary Jordan over.

In at 9:30 to transfer title of Chev to Leo Houser $575. Got check for $521.66 from Metropolitan on my 20 year endowment. Deposited $500 in Home Federal. Worked at shop P.M. – Roseberry & Sautter (from Galion) here tonight to order wedding. Ironed on my new foam rubber pad – Nice!

Wood Ducks! 25 of them up & down river all day. Also rose-breasted grosbeak & warbler’s wave. Beautiful day. In for Mary Smith wedding appointment & then to Girl Scout board meeting. Kathy8 got hair set – Marge. Home at 11:15. Popcorn in bed.

Out home about 1o. Charted most of iris on place. Took Barb Brooks in with us & went to Camp Young with Hutchmans. Lodge is super. Boys did most of work putting camp away. Hutchmans & us had supper in new Maple Grove fireplace. Look at Erma’s house plans.

Made Tomatoe [sic] Soup – no recipe. Sold Toronto Star “Winter Day” In at 1:00 & did Moore wedding & 12 Omar corsage. Aunt May, Floy Morris, Macy & Dale* up to see Grandma Sheneman & then on out here. Back in & took Kathy & David to see “Gone With the Wind”. 3rd time for me. Ended up with headache so stayed at folks all night.

Finished catsup – got 14 bottles. Sold Better Homes & Gardens “Just Desserts” after 28 times out. Daddy took Chev in & had Butlers* polish it. Looks good. Got David’s glasses & went collecting. Got $19.50. Daddy ‘n Mother brought us home & had JerZee**.
[Probably Roger Butler, who lived near the Hartford St. Gardens. **the JerZee diary whip has been a Marion institution for a long time – still the best shredded chicken sandwiches anywhere!]
