Up at 6:15 to take Kathy to sunrise service & just kept going. Weeded in garden. Order from Green Ridge here & set out part of it. Andorra Juniper, seedling Scotch Pine & Blue Spruce. Hutchmans brought supper out & Gorbys, Rockwells, Daddy out briefly.

Saturday, April 9, 1955
Beautiful day & no time to enjoy it. Total around 600 corsages. Erma did orchids & I assembled all the others. Fanny cooked for us & whole crew had supper. Through & home about 10:30. Exhausted.

Friday, April 8, 1955
Gorby’s – Erma Hutchman & Kathy all working swell, corsages & plants all ahead of last year. At mother’s all night again. Mary & Rocky & girls from Cooler* worked from 7 on.

Thursday, April 7, 1955
Erma Hutchman, Ann & Milan Gorby my crew until evening. Got along good. Milan & Alice closed greenhouse & fed Laddy so I stayed all night at folks.

Wednesday, April 6, 1955
Got Kathy at school at 12:30 & then in for funeral. Rode to Marysville with Beryl & Willa Morris*. Back to shop & plunged into Easter preparations. Working in garage this year. Made 450 boxes. Home about 10:30.

Tuesday, April 5, 1955
Took my car to Harrolds & had muffler put on. Met Mother at Penny’s. She bought another coat! & a dress & hat. To Axe’s* tonight. Took David. Kathy at party for Bob Swisher. Home about 10:30.

Monday, April 4, 1955
Daddy called at 8:00 saying Grandma Sheneman died at 1:30 AM. She would have been 103 Thursday. Uncle Allen arrived at 4:00. Kids in Marion with Mr. Williams. Took Mother shopping. Got David’s hair cut. Got supper at Mother’s for Allen & Lily too. Pictures, slides.

Called Uncle Allen Sheneman to tell him Grandma was going. He couldn’t get a plane out until night.

Friday, April 1, 1955
Ate breakfast on terrace. Mergansers on river. To garden club at O’Connells. Stopped by Hutchman’s new house. Have sub flooring on.
Stopped by Aunt Lily’s to see Grandma Sheneman. She was sleeping so didn’t wake her.
