Cool nip in the mountain air. More beautiful Parkway driving. Left it to go to Charlottesberg to Monticello. So much to see there. Took twisty secondary road to Mt. Vernon. Daylight Saving time! so Mt. Vernon closed. To Watergate in evening & heard US Army Band after cop got us parking place.

Forrest Sheneman off on his Diesel car at 8:30. Mary took us shopping – Kathy & I got dresses. Lunch at a Bar-BQ. Off about 12:30 to Mt. Airy & Beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. Really parklike & along the mountain tops. Fortunate to find wonderful campground at Peaks of Otter so camped out.
