Letter from Kathi with same plans for my visit to Texas that I had worked out. Called her & told her it sounded good. Would fly from Columbus on Feb 21 or 22 & back to Columbus March 4.

Monday, January 2, 1967
Compiler for Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area bird count. Howard & I did Chapel Hgts & area around Ridgedale School in AM & I did around Meeker P.M. Sturgeon & Jividen did the waterfowl area – Ranny Williams along Rt 95 & Scioto – John Teetor near Marion. Dinner with Helen & Paul Williams in evening. David back to OSU to his apartment on 13th St. [Avenue]

5″ snow – Aunt Ruth & Uncle Allen here for Sue Porterfield’s funeral.

Friday July 1, 1966
Opened at new shop – 615 E. Center St. But forgot to give keys to anyone so help all lined up outside waiting to be let in when I got there at 8:40.

Wood Ducks on Pond – 2 males 1 female. Temp in 70’s – Home during morning with David (Spring Vacation from OSU)

Foggy morning. Plan to leave Columbus airport at 1:15 for Reno to visit Kathi & Don for 2 weeks.

Thursday, July 30, 1964
Kathi & Don Decker married at Trinity Baptist Church in Marion. Rehearsal at 10:30 – Luncheon at Courtesy Inn for 15, pictures by John Rall from Hughes at 1:30 – ceremony at 2:30 attended by about 100 – Reception under apple tree at Terradise for 75. Buffet after kids left for 30 – Barb Parker, Kathi’s only attendant stayed all night. Kathi & Don went to Richmond, Indiana for night.

Wednesday, July 29, 1964
Kathi* & I had hair set at Shirley’s – Catherine Loudenslager here helping to clean when we got home. Kathi met Don at the shop & they got their license. He had trailer ready to pack & spent all evening doing it. Mary, Rocky, Mother, Uncle Byron & Barb & Lynn Fisher from New Jersey – the Loudenslagers dropped in. Kathi decided to pack her gifts & take with her.

[*Kathy Haldeman changed the spelling of her name some time while at Miami University – since her legal name was Katharin (no “Y”) she felt it made more sense to be Kathi]
