Wally met me at the bus in Marion. The folks had gone to Uncle Hen’s* -Aunt Effie died last night. Apoplexy. Mr. Ed Bindley died last night at about the same time- heart- Daddy was to take Innis Bindley up tomorrow and bring Ed back.
My plans for a vacation in Somerset all shot. Too much of a trip for Daddy in 2 days.
Wally rode me on Milt’s bike.

Down with Mr. Shelton. Marybelle Crow Rathbone and Rosina rode too. First time I’d seen Mary since she was married when I was a freshman.
Bill says I may have to take my vacation the week of the 4th. Factory closing that week.
Washed and ironed tonight. Wally called. Didn’t like it because I went with Bernard Saturday night.

Up at 8. Took from 8:45 to 1:00 to get my permanent. Went with Daddy to the garden about 2. Set out asters and tomato plants and eggplant. Put hug[?sic] finish on everything and plowed. When we got home Bernard Brooks was there. I bathed and we went up town to meet Rosina. But her mother wouldn’t let him come with us. I saw Ralph Mohat. He’s neighbors both in work and living. Bernard treated me at Islay’s and then we went home and had cherry pie.

Mother wrote today saying that she wanted the big suitcase so Wally brought it over. And then we went for a walk on the campus. It started raining so we walked in the rain. Stopped for a hamburger and some peanuts. Just fun. Home about 9 and packed my suitcase.
Ask Bill about my raise again. He said he would get on them upstairs about it.
