Highland Carpet man here to repair linoleum where cabinets didn’t fit. Hard job because of three layers of previous linoleum to build up around! but they did a great job.
In about 10:30 to Heritage Hall. Couldn’t get much work done for Jack talking. Installed new phone system with rotary- three phones. Left my car at Young’s for winterizing and went to Burroughs for lunch. Had to leave while Margaret Iams was reversing her slides on Nova Scotia. Donna Wargowski Thomas took me to Heritage Hall for meeting with Ted Myers and George Brown on fundraising. George attacked problems of contacting MCHS members for contributions to purchase post office. I have to update database payments since June.
Jack took me to Young’s to pick up car and met Mary and Geneva at Perkins for supper. Picked up Willis Nye and took him to Huber board meeting. Charlie Evers chair of nominating committee named Mike Deitch as vice president- disaster for Edward Huber Memorial Association in 2 years when he’s president.

Dreamed the first chapter of Marion City history book too bad I didn’t write it down when I first woke up.

Wrote to Bank Ohio Dayton to substantiate my creditworthiness- income- charge accounts and my indignation in being rejected for Wolohan’s account.
Call from Richard Frankoviglia about Melanie Kaufman not being notified of Region 1 meeting at Paulding. Genevieve didn’t invite her! When Genevieve called her to report meeting held at Paulding Tuesday she really upset Melanie. Sending Melanie all material.

To Lima by 9:45 to see Allen County Historical Society computer program to manage collections. Ray Schuck cordial and turned me over to John and Anna who showed and copied ‘Nutshell’ for me. On to Paulding for 1:00 meeting with Paulding Historical Society Group to plan Region 1 meeting on March 17th. Learned Genevieve had not invited Melanie Kaufman- the new Region 1 rep & the main reason I went to the meeting. Good thing I was there- Genevieve would have pushed off the total planning on to Paulding Society. However we did get a budget set up, planned site and food. Les Davis, Virginia Paulus were great. Their society has 2 60×100 metal buildings and a volunteer group that works every Tuesday. Royce and Ruby Smith took me to site of Blue Creek log cabin school where grandpa Sheneman taught in 1873 or 74. Also to ‘Junction’ where the Wabash and the Miami area canals met.
Left Smiths at 5:00 and drove through rain half the way home. Had planned to stop to see Gayle Zimmerman but too tired and too late. Home about 8:00 after getting gas and groceries.

Cut off the gorgeous flowering kale in front of house and planted it in entrance bed so I can plant the two hosta Krossa Regal that Mary gave me for my birthday. Cut off mums and the potentilla.
In at 2:30 for executive committee meeting at 3:00 to consider offer of $26,500 for cottage at 255 South Main street. Of three options Jack had me adopt two- accept $26,500 discount the $30,000 we wanted by real estate fee of say $1,500 by $2,000 to be paid $5,000 a year to the Heritage Preservation Endowment Fund.
Met Mary at Bob Evans for dinner. Stopped at Nye’s with Huber minutes and membership. Willis in favor of selling Cockshutt models at cost and realizing $25,000 rather than wait 10 years for $45,000.
Took tan dress back to Lohman’’s for credit- it didn’t fit.
Ruth Mosher called- forgot meeting. She told Jack she would do correspondence for him- he brushed her off! Called Kathleen Haldeman to tell her Sandy Davis will be here December 7th.
