($150.62) (1 hr o’time) Trella’s busy day- She worked here, shop, Eastern Star stuff, luncheon (Erma Hutchman) for her, & Burroughs Club here tonite. I talked Presbyterian Church Men’s Group & got in on end ‘o their meeting here, inc. lunch!! (2 showers for Trella today!)

Sunday, March 15, 1953
Up & out at 8 to 954, gathering clothes, checking irises, etc, nice day, but colder by the time we finished cleaning Terradise shack!! (Tails [sp?] stopped by, too.) Hemmerlys here tonite (Weaver* here 3 hrs about noon, about house)

Cooler, still nice. 1st Iris reticulata blossom! All helped clean house after work (& girl scout party at Scout Office); & Dad & Cora here for evening of Florida pictures – nice time.

Friday, March 13, 1953
Spring again! Took TV upstairs tonite; got Gene, & we brought big Radio-Phono from Hemmerlys & to Hutchmans. Home tonite. I had bad spell. Took poetry talk for Monday nite.

Thursday, March 12, 1953
Warm – shirt sleeves pm! Worked on pome in checking tonite, and Trella & I went to Soulier’s to Porchie’s [sp?] class meeting.

Wednesday, March 11, 1953
Warmish. Walt saw Trella this am— moved desk, etc, into 552 this eve. Hutchman’s here for pictures, Hemmerlys & Rockwells, too. Bed late.

[Trella added a note later: Walt asked to cut kids allotment from $65 (which was NOT 1/2 of his salary as he promised) to $50 each per month.]

Tuesday, March 10, 1953
Warmer, I went Westwood after work, dubbed iris garden check-up. Trella had Scout meeting & cookie sale. Pd. Mrs. Thomas $75 for “boat & beds”. Visited Acres & met Bogers after supper. Wrote Hazel Chase, Hemmerlys here.

Monday, March 9, 1953
Rough – back t’ work in 5″(?) snow, boots, lot ‘o mail. Tired tonite & some discouraged. We got Girl Scout cookies & took Lorraine Soulier to 954, stopping their house on way back.

Sunday, March 8, 1953
Trella had beaucoup weddings – I got Sandra Jean, took her to 954, gave her trinkets & an acct. of trip. Rest ‘o day, dinner at 229 [illegible], then 552, clean up, supper, TV. [Illegible] 954 – a pain! Bed 9:30 or so.

Saturday, March 7, 1953
Prestonsburg KY – Home! About 12:45 or so, pm. Dinner at 229 E. Fairground; called Sandy & [illegible]; unpacked, called on Dad & [same illegible] tonite. Had Hemmerlys and Rockwells for films – bed late, 1st nite at 552. Both dead!
