Cold. Froze, I did! Bad time mentally a.m. Nice evening, all to Palace. “Peter Pan”, Home 8, popcorn & bed early.

Wednesday, March 25, 1953
Much colder. Snow flurries! All to Rockwell’s tonite – nice visit. Wrote letters before, & some verse work.

Tuesday, March 24, 1953
Warm yet- nice! Forsythia, hyacinths see out!! Westwood nap, & Gene & I brought wing chair Harold & Mary’s & TV set here. Home tonite. pomes & stamp page in album.

Monday, March 23, 1953
Still warm! To Westwood tonite, & MacIntire & family looked it over. Nice Swiss Steak supper; Trella to LaRue to make talk- I “batched” it, after David went to bed – pomes & stamps.

Sunday, March 22, 1953
Warm again; we spent near all day at Acres, taking Mike Leonard & Keith Brown, too. Burned wood pile, cut thorny trees, etc. Paris & Helen and Margaret Anne out; Hutchman’s, Hemmerly’s. Supper here (lunch at Acres), & evening here. I got some pomes out. Trumpet Daffodils blooming!!

Saturday, March 21, 1953
Hot almost? (74 degrees officially) A.M. with Jim Weaver & Bill Hutchman, signed contract at last! P.M. tried to move Rocky’s metasequoia- gave up! Went Acres, staked out house, dubbed on weekds, planting, etc. Paris & Helen & Margaret Anne* here for “Florida Show” evening- nice.

Friday, March 20, 1953
Week-end off. Spent morning arranging for loan, mostly- Marion Federal. P.M. Trella worked shop, I dubbed 954- garden, bugs etc. Sandra Jean here tonite, nice visit, slides, movies, shells, etc.

Thursday, March 19, 1953
Cool too- but nice. Half headache- sinus? part of day. Nap at Westwood at gas fire tonite- both here & supper (but Good!), called Sandra Jean & made Quest Club talk at Federated Women’s Home. Trella worked final draft house plans all day. Typing on SPECIFICATIONS tonite.

Wednesday, March 18, 1953
Cooler, but not too bad- worked in rain all a.m. Trella & I got auto plates, went grocery tonite, got pop. She made talk later; I stayed here- pomes & morgued*.

[*morgued – added clippings, letters, etc to “the morgue” – slang for paper files]

Tuesday, March 17, 1953
Swell day again; warm by p.m. Trella agreed “give” Walt $20 month on Kid’s money, I went 954 & worked on iris tonite- fun! We stayed tonite 552, had TV fixed for both sets. Trella worked house plan, I wrote 2 letters.
