Fair, warm. To Galion am, Cora, Paris & I. Dad better (home tonite). Paris, Sandy & I dug Irises & assembled orders till 4:30, then Trella & I till dark- made some deliveries, then “Iris-signed” till late.

Cool. Trella had 2 weddings. I wasted day on Iris- preparing ground at Hartford Street garden, preparing collections pm. We pic-niced [sic] inside cabin at Acres tonite. Nora & Scott Baker & Shusters; Fails* visited. Delivered Iris orders & worried over others.

Sandra Jean, Trella & I worked all day till about 3(?) digging, wasing, labeling Westwood Iris, eating dinner there. Fun- & work. Trella & I then to shop, Acres, etc, etc- & dug here & at garden, back 954. Helen tried to find us- did- & Paris & Cora later, about DAD’s having a stroke (?) again, in Galion – in hospital there now.

Nice ideal day (but we need RAIN). Here for lunch; Trella to Acres pm, back at 4, & we took off again, planting, etc. Home, baths, & made phone call & “did up” Iris digging dope & labels for [shorthand]

NICHOLS STARTED FIREPLACE-
Cooler – a little rain- very little. Carried whole trip & nice fish dinner, Trella & I, here. Tonite, I napped, then tore Acres to start setting up greenhouse! A job. Picnic supper, Rocky & Mary brought me home. Trella came earlier to sell 2 weddings.

Hotter? Terrific. To Westwood at noon, Trella & I- lunch & loaded 1st batch of things for directly into attic at Acres! Delivered ’em tonite, & burned trash, etc & watered some Irises. To Drive-In, Trella & I, nice time & lunch here after. Plaster, first coat, done!

Hot too. Tried showering, but little rain. Kids left pm with Granny & Gramma* for Michigan, we’re honey-mooning. Ralston’s ordering fireplace brick at noon, tonite, I died with headache- Trella to farm & back, planted popcorn (I felt better); Bill & Erma here.

Swell weather, planted seedlings at Acres almost all day! To 954 for lunch (Trella mucha weddings) & nap- all out to Acres 5 or so- picnic supper, more seedlings, more company! Movies at home later, bed, tired.

Hot again, but showers started at noon & cooled it off. We took new PICNIC table (Ray & Rocky) out to Acres noon, eating here. Tonite, I dug IRISES (seedlings) 954, till blue in face. Trella had wedding.

Hotter? Almost got me- dinner Westwood, after doing while trip. Laid down after work, then at at Patio*, & all to Acres- planted more Iris. Over to see picnic table ala Ray Hemmerly & Rocky, at 229. Nice!
