Poohed all day. Hot, nap tonite & to Westwood – tearing apart workbench & bug case cabinets. Quit about 9:15- home, bath, & bed. Trella out too, after selling a wedding.

Monday, July 13, 1953
Put up mail & left; 2 hr work, & Paris, Trella & I painted all day. Trella in big bedroom, did some on hall. Square Dance Holiday Hill tonite.

Painted big bedroom – all day. Beautiful day..-

Saturday, July 11, 1953
Trella & I (after I went Westwood, got paint drop “rugs” & butterflies in cases) & Kathy went Acres & prepared to paint big bedroom walls – too much co.! [sic]

Friday, July 10, 1953
Vacation, 1 day. [illegible] & I to farm, filling hols & sanding all day! He left at 3 – my car. Trella out at noon with kids & lunch. Home for nice supper tonite. We “Rez’d”* most o’ woodwork.

[*Rez, a varnish brand]

Thursday, July 9, 1953
Nice. Coolish ideal day. Finished at noon; long lunch hr. “here”. Tonite, got Sandra Jean after work, ate at farm behind house & we filled holes & sanded ’em – kids helping after boat ride. Home 11:30 (?)

Wednesday, July 8, 1953
Nice day. Help at PO – Hiss, made it easy. Dinner at 954- last time? Tonite, fast supper here & to Acres – Jim Weaver & Guy both trimming. I chopped & burned; Trella filled holes, bedrooms. Hutchmans out. “Shopped” house color; will man here for dough.

Back work. Trella all apart about house & selling Westwood – & I helped with tirade at Ireland. To Dr. Morgan about writing letter to P.O. Blood pressure up again.

Monday, July 6, 1953
Day’s vacation- we bought carpet for living room; picked up 2 churches, etc. Pm, we went Acres & talked Jim Weaver, had carpet (Sears) man out with samples & I chopped & burned trees while Trella & Kathy washed, etc. Supper in Caledonia restaurant. Home 10.

Sunday, July 5, 1953
Up & off to varnish bedroom floors final coat. [Shorthand] last o’ imported Iris pm. Home, cleaned up, & out to Acres again for picnic supper on Jordan’s mostly, Rocky & Mary, Helen Dellart (sp?); Brooks too. Paris & Helen & Staffords stopped by & Hemmerly’s. Home 9:30 about.
