Monday, August 3, 1953
Hot too. Day off. Still broke in two; but went 954, got load, & evening went Acres- Worden laid living room carpet. We dubbed at spouting, painted closets & cleaned up. Home tonite- wedding customer.

Sunday, August 2, 1953
Warm, rainy, up late – broke in two. Cleaned out basement shelves, & Bill & Erma helped us take truckload to farm p.m. We sanded, etc. & Paris out after work & we varnished, finishin’ living room & putting coat on kitchen cupboards. Supper there.

Saturday, August 1, 1953
($148.34) Hot, again & heat got me. Tonite, (Trella to Dr.’s in pm- hand doing fine) Paris & us to farm- varnishing, painting inside kitchen cupboards (radiators on!) & Paris nearly died. Hemmerly’s brought picnic lunch late & we ate. Home 10:30.

Thursday, July 16, 1953
Work! “Day off”. Augs & I painted til 11, Trella helping. Then I went back & worked on bug cases pm; Trella & kids brought lunch out (Trella shopped pm), & we painted tonite till 11! Kathy’s room, big bedroom cases, trim. Jim Weaver got garage doors on. Trella saw about mortgage on 552.

Friday, July 31, 1953
Laid off sick- head- & me (Paris till 3:30) painted final Living Room coat- nice!! Nap p.m., & Trella & I “Rezzed” Living Room bokcases, etc, after filling holes, etc. Stopped shop- home 10:20.

Thursday, July 30, 1953
Hot again. Home for lunch, Hemmerly’s assisting. Trella & I (kids to Drive-In, Rockwell’s) out with a load (Dad took load, Desoto too), & we Rez’ed. filled, sanded on living room woodwork. Home 11:30.

Wednesday, July 29, 1953
Trella home from Hospital about 1-? Took her to Acres, we too, tonite- how nice it looks to her! Douce here b/4 supper, for statement. Settled with Jim Weaver tonite, going along $468 over, which we still owe him. Back late.

Tuesday, July 28, 1953
Hot. 90 but better’n yesterday. To see her at noon with news she doesn’t have to appear in court Thursday! Paris wonderful- Deck Hazen too. Tonite, weeded Irises at Garden, went Acres (masonry complete), plumbing being worked on- completed?? & Dad & Fetter fishin’! To Hosp- Trella home to Hemmerly’s.

Monday, July 27, 1953
Hot- 95. Trella still fine- they haven;t told her when she may8 leave Hospital. Out after work & again 8:30 with ice tea. Mowed lawn & cut weeds here first. Stuckey here when I got back – stalled him awhile.

Sunday, July 26, 1953
Hot, Trella fine; helped her with breakfast; tried to get Sandra Jean (not up) took off for Acres; Cleaned up kitchen, washed on base-shopes, closets, etc. Hemmerly’s & Rockwells & kids out to help clean windows; nice picnic lunch. Paris, Snyders etc. To Hospital with Sandra Jean tonite, back with Iced Tea & fan for later. Sandra Jean some kid these days.
