Tuff mail – allowed overtime – not me, I says! SHIRTSLEEVES p.m. again. Home for lunch. H & J* here when we got home (we’d stopped to see Cora – Dad not there); tramped acres b/4 dark, quick supper, & they stayed till 9:30. Nice evening. Trella spraying stuff now for talk [shorthand]

Laid off- said “knee”, & Trella & I to Columbus: Xmas- talk shopping- (Hills, Smith & Young), bookstore, dime-stores, Esther Weakly (not there). Thomas*, Home 5:15 or 5:30 (?). I messed lining up Skippers tonite. Trella to bed with headache. Perfect weather! Warm, etc. Ray Hemmerly out today with stovepipe etc. for greenhouse.
