Left Ulle’s at 9:15 and got to Brooks at East Hampton Long Island at 6:15 stopped at Valley Forge and drove through the area. Took wrong turn as I got back on I-278 but eventually got headed east again. Crossing the Susquehanna and Delaware and the East River was interesting but a real thrill to cross the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Could see out into the Atlantic Ocean and up to the Statue of Liberty & Battery area with the tall World Trade Towers. Got off on 227 too soon and after many traffic lights went North to Southern Expressway (should have stayed on Belt Parkway) got to East Hampton just about dark and turned at first light as Jackie told me but after a little confusion found 30 Cooper Lane. Brooks’ as delightful as ever. Mimi[?] had flounder, cauliflower and baked potatoes for dinner and then we took a ride past the millionaire homes along the ocean. He (Bill) so proud of his “village.” Showed my genealogy stuff. They showed me Robert Lyon Gardner’s home. His ancestor brought my ancestor Thomas Hurlbut over from England as soldier.
