Trella Hemmerly – 1947-08-29

Friday, August 29, 1947
Up early & took Wally to work. To garden & got 15 or more large cucumbers for bread & butter pickles & incidentally pulled some weeds. Put pickles in brine solution. Over home for glads for Va Thomas wedding. Margie Deyson wnet along & I gave her some for helping me yesterday. Also made cards for some to be sent to Mrs. Rinehart & Mrs. Waddell. Daddy thought Mary sent big Picardies & 4 bouquets of his big picardy. Both women called thanking me.

Aft er lunch left David with Mother (he napped) & Kathy & I went up town. Got Kathy good & school shoes – 3 pr $1.00 hose 4pr $1 panties. Met Wally & bought $4 used records. Home & started on wedding flowers. Made up easily. Rosina & George Stafford came for vegetables. Romines came up about 9 to plan for eats at Camp Young. Ray & I went over to garden to check Ponddlia for moths. There were several on it but all common. Storm blowing up so we didn’t stay. Sent 3 of Ray’s poems to Nature Magazine after they left.
