Letter from Smith & Young saying they couldn’t promise roses & carnations! So called Amling at Chicago & they said OK. Sent them confirmation & check for $100 but will hold breath until I have the flowers before me.

Over home in afternoon to clean basement. Couldn’t make much headway but looks a little better.

Romines up at 1:30 – me still dirty, sweeping kitchen! Showed them how to make bows then I took my bath. Made about 70. Mary made “Fair Waffles” for the lunch. We ate 3 plates full! Home about 11:30.
