Sunday, November 18, 1990
Too much excitement so didn’t go to sleep until 3:30 – Then felt lousy when I woke at 9:00. Karen & Sarah getting bfst. Goetta & coffee cake – I added cereal. David in to help Ruth Mosher install WS5.5 Rest of us to Hemmerly’s Open House. Met Mary there. David me Norm at HH after installing SBT there – Karen, kids & I home for leftovers & pizza. David back about 4:00 & they left about 6 for Cinci. A very satisfying Thanksgiving.

Saturday, November 17, 1990
Leisurely prepared stuffing, sweet potatoes, relish plate, cranberry sauce, gravy. Cleaned up Daddy;s old electric roaster. Must be 55 years old – Put turkey in but it wouldn’t heat so put inner pan in oven. Mary out about 1:00 & peeled potatoes & apples for me – So everything was under way when Haldemans arrived about 2:00 – David wanted to put up a new swing. The limb on the sycamore broke off this summer. Got 50’ rope at Depot Sales & couldn’t find a good limb down in the woods so put in on the white oak in the middle of the upper lawn. Susannah loved it. Dinner about 5. Davie had installed SBT Acctg system on my computer & gave me a lesson on it. He makes it look so easy – Jed’s descriptions on his well-organized photos of France included all the details the guides gave. Josh not so organized & still can’t speak coherently.

Made list of Huber family members from EHMA database for Harry Mauk – also printed list of all members of board & wrote letter from Harry to send to members about Lincoln Mercury bldg – and to expired members – 50 of them! Finished Exec Comm minutes from tape.
In about 2:00 to tek material from Local History Office on Exec Director agreement to Hal Boncutter & Exec Board minutes to Helen Kaufman. Bought fresh turkey at Kroger’s – @ 1.29 lb instead of frozen at 39 cents lb. Hope it’s good.
Guy Denny called & said presentation could be whenever I want it – so thinking of spring – maybe Garden Open Garden.
To Al’s Restuarant for dinner with Mary H & Mary J. We all had fried cube steak.
Tore loaf of bread into cubes for dressing tomorrow.

Call from Amy – Dept Natural Resources – Natural Area wanting to know if next Tuesday at 9:00 AM would be OK to present plaque to Terradise. Ask her to call back tomorrow as I needed time to [incomplete sentence here]
In at 10:00 for physical examination. Dr. Lowe didn’t even take my blood pressure until I asked him to. Whole exam including taking a pap smear took less that 20 min.
Referred me to Dr. Winder for hearing evaluation. Stopped at shop & bank – Bought $2,500 EE US Bond – D3* – beneficiary. Took pre-Christmas Open House 25th video. To HH & used that computer to write Exec. Comm. minutes. Called David to invite them to Thanksgiving dinner this Sat. night & then take in the Open House on Sunday. Wants turkey and the works.
Call from Eula – says need to call board members to get support from paint walls only in lobby in view of letter from OHPO.
Call from Harry Mauk – wants list of Huber Family members to study for donations to purchase Lincoln Mercury property.
A mobile house appeared next to my lots across the road near the barn.
Called Dee – Their condo purchase fell through because the seller went bankrupt but have made an offer on another. Told them I thought God was telling them something.

Royce here to clean – I cleaned garage floor of leaves – and raked leaves on lower drive & hauled them across road for compost. Mowed leaves down in woods & upper lawn. Grass so green & pretty.
Wore me out.

Revised SR again – In at 4:00 to make cop[ies for meeting.
Jack had letter from OPO consenting to Jack’s plan to go thru lobby wall & erect 2 walls – but did not condone the changes. I feel my phone call last Monday did affect the tone of the letter & may give us a break through to stop the changes. I told Jack I had asked Judith Kitchen what the objections were to see thru gates. She said it had never been discussed. Jack stated at last board meeting the OP had rejected that suggestion but his response today was only sputtering & a brush off. However his general attitude during the meeting was conciliatory.
Took financial analysis to Jim Mautz – Society Financial Advisor – & sent copy to David.
So tired – to bed.

Monday, November 12, 1990
Worked right up until 4:00 on sorting out financial information from Norm’s reports to give to David to create a chart of accounts. Very disturbing. Also incorporating data on historic list of officers & trustees.
Exec Com meeting – minus Jack – going over what I proposed. From 4:30 to 7:30. Took confections that I made from cornflakes – chocolate bits & nuts.

Called Haldeman’s & talked to boys about trip to France. Josh didn’t have time to talk because program on Titanic was on TV.
Worked at finished my draft of Standing Rules & Job Description for Exec Dir. – In to HH at 3:30 – Erman Hutchman working on crafts. Copied SR & Exe Dir Job Desc & gave to Helen to distribute. She did call an Exec Com to fo over them tomorrow before Jack’s back.
Called Helen Romine to check on her. Had aorta operation in Aug.

MCHS 9:00 – 4:00 7 hrs Standing Rules
Started on finishing Job Description for Exec Director but realized it tied into Standing Rules so finished them just in time to meet Huber Board at the former Lincoln Mercury Bldf just N of Trinity Baptist Church. Looks promising – 10,000 sq ft including offices, room for auditorium, parts & 10,000 vacant lot – and adjacent to True Home & Heritage Hall – $100,000 – but without organization support it seems irresponsible.
Gave Norm info he asked for on MCH Society Board members & activities so he can include in 990 IRS Form. To HH – Margaret & Eula with more complaints. To restroom remodeling is unplanned & Jack decided on Pink! CLeaned computer of files not relevant. Me Mary at Isaly’s for supper. Left purse at HH so she loaned me $10. She had been out AM to tell me Jeanette – Jessie Baker’s friend died of flu!

2 Marys picked me up & went to Jerry’s in Galion for my birthday dinner. Mary J’s treat to mary too for her driving every Friday.
I had chicken because it was the $5.95 entree.
